I was wondering if anyone other than me would be interested in buying an album of b-sides?
their are so many songs on singles that are just as great as album stuff that i hate having to put on singles one after another to hear them.

I figure if i can get enough peoples feed back on this subject we could maybe convince LIVE to make this their next task after some well deserved R&R of course

I would most definitely buy it! I've made one myself a few years back but the quality of some of the songs is rather bad...

There probably arent many quality versions out there. Back then they didnt have alot of money so they probably spent the least amount of money possible initally recording alot of songs. Once they decided on about 15 then they probably went back to the studio and spent some more money to get better recordings.

there are plenty of songs... mixed and mastered, that exist. the band wrote 50 for TDTH, and they recorded at least 30. then there's songs like 'lift me up' and 'mallrat'

i'm thinking EVERYbody on this board would buy it. however, i wouldn't count on the band to get it done. there was a petition a few years back asking for such an album... and it was given to the band. and they didn't care. and now that they're on a new label, they don't have access to the songs... or to put it more appropriately... they don't have the authority to put out songs recorded on their older label even if they wanted to. it's a nice thought, though.

remember when smashing pumpkins gave a big middle finger to their label and leaked like two album's worth of they're own songs? now, THAT was a true gesture to their fans.

I'm sorta indifferent to the idea... I probably wouldn't buy it... highly doubt it would happen anyway. It'd be nice for all the people that do want all the b-sides though.

I heard they wrote 10,000 songs for TC and recorded like 8,000 of them. So it'd better be a box set.

that would have to be the most over exagerated theory ive ever heard! to write that many and record as much would take to or three life times of rocking out to master omg.gif

Exactly, their regular albums of new material don't even sell. You have to be popular to release and sell a b-sides album. Just because the songs may have been written and recorded when tons of people liked the band, it doesn't mean that the millions of people who have forgotten about Live would suddenly buy the b-sides album.

I would though. Maybe they'll just burn me a disc if I send them two blanks like we used to do in the old days of bootleg trading.
