Why is Ed sitting on the Goose Blackstone album?

Why can't Ed ship a bunch of records to his Ed Kowalczyk MissingInk store and make them available for sale?

Is there some legal block preventing Ed from selling or making MP3/streams available online?

Why create an album and then shelve it?

Forget even pressing records or cd's if up front cost is an issue. Seems like it would be easy to make it available for download and there's no physical overhead cost.

The only thing I can think of is that he wants to use (or rerecord) multiple songs from the album and release them under Līve. It would be the easy button for a new Līve album, which seems to be what Līve always does.
