Last Record Store Day saw the first ever release of Soul Asylum's 1993 MTV Unplugged performance on vinyl.
It's produced by Dave Pirner which is the band's lead singer and main songwriter.

That release was totally unexpected.

I just checked the current amount of monthly listeners for each band on Spotify:
- Soul Asylum 2.2M
- Live 3M

There's still hope for a vinyl release of Live's MTV Unplugged guys !!!
Maybe we should ask for it ?

Worst possible time to release it. Who is actually interested in it anyway? Everybody who wants to listen to it already has a copy. The time to release this album has passed - Live could have made a fortune from it if it was released at a more relevant time.

Agree with dangum. The vinyl revival is dying off. Live have never shown any motivation to give the fans any b-sides, alternative takes, demos or concert recordings. Can't see that changing now.

For this particular performance, the best I hope for is for it to be released in hi definition on Paramount + or whatever streaming platform has the rights. Even this seems unlikely.

That’s just not true

I think this would serve only to highlight the fact that Live isn't the same band any more.
