*Totally lifted this idea from someone else.
**I’m setlist/playlist obsessed, so had to give it a go.

It’s your birthday party and your personal friends Līve have agreed to do a mini-set of 5 songs of your choosing in your backyard. Show me your setlists!!

Mine:

Like I Do
Meltdown
You Are the World
Hold Me Up
Stage

Where Fishes Go

Wings

The Strength to Hold On

Deep Enough ( unironically. If you heard it in concert in 2000 before the V studio version was ever made, you'd know. )

Giver Man
***TMI / RAMBLING ALERT ****

( I know everyone thinks it's cheesy, especially the baby in the womb part, but when 717 came out my then-fiance-now-wife and I were finally discussing conceiving after a few years of being weary that at her age we wouldn't have good luck. I had spent good years of my life worrying about that and this song, in its goofy and carefree glory, was what I sang along to at the top of my lungs in hopes that karma and good deeds would permit me to know biological fatherhood.

Now my girl is 10 months old, healthy, and smarter than both of us and I sing it loudly and proudly in the shower, the car, the backyard, to my baby- hell, if it was in the Live karaoke binder and we didn't have COVID all around us I would be belting it in the bar tonight after a few Maker's & Cokes.

I can't defend the creative/career progressions of Live from DotD to 717, but I can say even at their worst their songs have accompanied me on my path to my best.

Wonderful response. I’m a firm believer that music heals. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter and happy first birthday to her soon. I agree that even at Live’s worst (which for me is currently), they are still #1 in my heart & their songs are always with me too. Glad to see Like I Do making another top 5. guitar.gif

Fly?

Allegedly, Ed did a song with Daughtry called Fly. I asked Ed if it existed when I spoke with him back in 2009. I reported it here - I'll just quote what I wrote:

QUOTE
Alright, I asked about Fly and his work with daughtry. He said that Fly is not the only thing out there, they recorded a lot together. It is on both of their computers at home. So we may see it in the future!

Ever since I asked him about it I've wanted to know what this mystery song was. Maybe someday we will hear it.

Also, in trying to find my original post I realize I was a cringey fuck 12 years ago. I guess that means I've grown as a person, but jeesh I had some dumb opinions.

That sounds distantly familiar now that you mention Daughtry. I just discovered "A New World" today, I can't believe I never knew about that one.

Should have been on the album! Ed wasn't even going to make it available in the US.
