I am a longtime listener, but new to this site...it is FANTASTIC, so I figured I should ask this here...has Ed stated what "Mystery" is about? I have a theory that it may be about Jesus - " did we put you way up there or did God send you down from above" may refer to questions about the validity of Jesus being the Son of God, did man create the myth or was he sent down by God.. another is the line " this dimestore ring still shines like a diamond to you" referring that, while Ed may feel he is not worthy or has sinned, Jesus looks at him like " a diamond" - beautiful and untarnished...and also " the proof is in the bloodshot eys of the one who failed to see your mystery" could be a doubter who realized he was wrong..just wondering

I think there is a podcast and an interview on fye.com in which Ed explains Mystery. He doesn't say that it refers to Jesus.

They've got a podcast about Mystery linked up on their site, friendsoflive. Is it the same podcast as on fye?
