Ed, Chad, Patrick and I have been talking to journalists covering the reformation of our band (and for clarity this post isn't about our band). I've fielded many questions on how this transformation occurred. I mentioned the cliché of 'time heals old wounds' but I'm only telling a half truth. There's a part of my story that is not passive but in fact, required active effort, to yield forgiveness. I recently heard someone say, "no one has ever accidentally forgiven anyone," and it motivated me to share this missing part of my story.

My forgiveness was uniquely intentional, gritty and hard fought. Each member of LĪVE has their own pathway, their own independence, that is non-exclusive to being members of a musical quartet. It would have been so easy to just drift further apart, or sale off into distant destinations. The music and the touring were not nearly as important as the strength it took to acknowledge the faults; to let go of pride, and the emotions that had so effectively undermined our spirit. God's grace (the part about time healing old wounds) and my determination to acknowledge my desire to make music with these guys, is a result of effort and hard work. Truths too deep or meaningful for the fast-paced nature of rock media or a snappy headline quote, but this is a personal journey, no different than yours.

If anything, I hope my journey might stand as a reminder to anyone who is passively waiting on forgiveness to activate: subvert pride; let go of resentment; and take a leap of faith. After an amazing week, celebrating LĪVE's music in Holland, I'm inspired to continue making that effort. Feeling grateful - CT

PS: Great photo of the LIVE SST truck taking a leap of faith at today's St Petersburg Grand Prix (driver #25 Arie Luyendyk Jr)

can't blame him at all. i'm sure he saw that badass pic and reverse engineered a vague analogy to Live to compound the impact
