So anyone of the board is at Pinkpop?
For those who are not: have fun with the stream!

First the plan was to stream it even live! But I see that's not the case anymore, the broadcast time changed and now it starts 40 minutes later. Seems like we still get the full hour:
https://3voor12.vpro.nl/update~55ae031b-a53...f-pinkpop~.html

Should be streamed over here: https://www.npo.nl/live/npo-cultura

Hope anyone can record it. Parts of the Pinkpop performances are also already on https://3voor12.vpro.nl/media/overzicht.htm...-group-episodes, so who knows.

Very curious if we get the new song tonight!

I liked their set! A bit weird to not have White, Discussion as the ending, that song also missed a bit of energy for me (I liked the long version with Shinn more). Other than that, they rocked and got a nice response by the crowd. Dolphin's Cry sounded a bit different than the live versions I know (also with the intro), but Ed really nailed this song (still has it!). Also liked the Johnny Cash words before I walk the Line. No Audioslave cover, but Run to the Water and Overcome were played. Who was that pianoman at the ending? eh.gif

Just watched it all, I thought it was brilliant. I've said before I only really cared about new music but I'm starting to take this return - with Ed back at the helm - a lot more seriously with performances like this. I just don't care about a lot of the stuff people endlessly argued about before. These are shitty times and seeing Live up there playing Run to The Water connected with me in a way I didn't think was still possible. Likewise, I didn't think Ed still had those lungs on him. Live can still surprise you.

I agree! I have not been that impressed by ed for a while but that's def his best work in a long time 👍 He is a bit more restrained than the old days and doesn't breath enough to be able to do the big high notes but I bloody loved it!!

I agree. rockin.gif

This is the best I've heard the guys sound in years. Ed's voice is great - the mix includes enough bass to make it interesting and Gracey is killing it on the drums sans plexiglass.

Fucking love this.

Let's hope they do some 3 hour plus monster shows of their own after the festival shtick is over.

I really liked the show yesterday, although it was quite short. But Ed needs to stop trying to proof to everyone that they are friends again. Patrick was really annoyed at times with Ed always trying to put his arm around his shoulder.

The fact that the last song was Overcome, an Ed solo, shows that he still wants to be in the spotlights a lot.

I'd rather have them performing another song at the end and leave the stage all together.

Maybe I'm paranoia or really worried, but the chemistry between them was not so good yesterday.

The songs and the performance were great though rockin.gif

I dunno... I'm an emotional type and I like the bromance. I was more worried after the NYE performance when Pat just seemed "there"; no emotion. I honestly didn't sense annoyance from Pat yesterday. Which song did you see that in?

Don't really remember, but a few times Pat did put his arm to Ed to say please keep your distance.

When Chad T, Ed and Pat came together, you could see Pat was not happy.

Like I said, I hope I'm just paranoid. Seeing Live again is like a dream come true.

And although I really liked the Turn and Chris, it is good to have the original line-up back again.

This is really a great performance and it is an amazing recording and video. The crowd was great. The band sounds amazing. I will be watching the YouTube video a long time into the future. Brilliant stuff. Love it! It's just so great to see Live back playing like this again. It's like reuniting with an old friend you haven't seen in a long time, and it all just picks back up where you left off.

Now this is the band I grew up with. Phenomenal. Ed nailed it, the Chads nailed... Pat nailed it even if he seemed less enthusiastic than everyone else.

One thing I've noticed, Chad and Zak's harmonies are far better than Chad and Adam's used to be. The backing vox are really, really good in this configuration.

In the US they've been closing with Lightning Crashes. I imagine they closed with Overcome specifically because it's such a big hit in the Netherlands. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Pinkpop specifically requested Ed do a performance of Overcome, considering they had a pianist on hand for just that one song.
