QUOTE
34 LIVE
These U2 sound-alikes never did find what they were looking for
Blessed with the same spiritual longing as U2 — but, sadly, none of the musical cunning — this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, quartet made a brief but insignificant splash in the early ’90s as purveyors of grandiose, vaguely uplifting alt-rock. Although their hold on the mainstream had evaporated by the end of the decade, their blend of loud guitars and portentous lyrics helped pave the way for crypto-Christian rockers Creed. Nice one, Live.
Appalling fact The album title Secret Samadhi derives from a form of Hindu meditation.

Worst CD SS.....hahaha these assholes don't know the first thing about Live. Harrisburg? Paved the way for Creed? U2 sound alike? Influnced, but wouldn't say Sounds alike.

Does anyone really read this peice of shit mag?

Funny thing is SS didn't make their 50 worst albums.

Oh yeah I guess. Operation Spirit, I Alone, Lightning Crashes, and Selling The Drama were all so "uplifting"

Oh, that's just retarded. They sound nothing like U2, even though I can hear the influence a little bit. I think no one makes alternative rock as beautiful as Live can... not all their songs are brilliant, but a great deal of them are, even if in different ways, and there are definitely some songs that are pure gold.

Why would anyone write up a list like that? It's all opinion anyway... there's a reason I don't get involved in the music and band scene, I find it too easy to get my opinions influenced by arrogant bastards who write articles like that.

I'm also really upset to see Blind Melon on the list. sad.gif I loved their style and emotional (and nonsensical) lyrics.

Lightning Crashes, maybe.

The others, not at all.

Blender sucks.

What a fucking idiot. Did you read the questionaire thing at the bottom? There's some artists on there that I don't like much, but I don't think any of them would end up in my bottom 50.

And yeah, Blind Melon? eh.gif

- they don't sound anything like U2 (for one, U2 are from Ireland)
- Harrisburg? Try York.
- quartet? There are 5 of them.
- "Splash in the early 90's"? They reached their peak in the mid 90's.
- Creed? huh?
- Secret Samadhi is either their best or second best album.

Whoever wrote this is the epitome of an idiotic, uninformed music critic.

LOL! What nonsense. Some of the great bands of all time are on that list, including:

2. Emerson Lake and Palmer
6. Kansas
16. Oingo Boingo
21. The Alan Parsons Project
22. Primus
37. The Doors (WTF?)
42. Rick Wakeman
45. Gypsy Kings
50. Iron Butterfly

I'm offended that Rush did not make the list. Dumbshits like this guy usually include them. rolleyes.gif

The can say what they like, but don't go blaming Creed on Live - that guilt turkey lies squarely at the door of Nirvana.

As for U2 wannabe's - Coldplay... need I say more? At least Chad T can think up his own guitar riffs.
