Now that this forum is alive again and more fans are lurking, I was wondering how many forumers here used to frequent the old Live-web fan site back in the day? Live had a massive cult following back then. Those were the good ol days!

I was a poster on Live-web. It was a cutting edge site in its day. Being able to comment on news articles and all that.

I was there! I was so sad when it shut down. I was also on Jimmy Lang's S.O.Y. email digest before that. That seems like a lifetime ago!

I used to post on Live-web too. I remember getting a live recording of Run to the Water from there before TDTH came out. Shitty quality but i probably listened to it 50 times.

I also remember collecting Live singles and rarities off eBay at the time. You could actually type in someone else's username and see what they were bidding on. So instead of wasting hours trawling through page after page of other bands' live releases, i would look at what dangum or iloveedko were bidding on and save a bunch of time.

I still have printed boot covers from MVDB. Especially loved Pilgrimage To The Southern Stars.

Live-web.com was a unique fansite, way ahead of its time. But I joined Live land through the SOY emaillist back in 1995, one of the first things I did on the interwebs actually. MVDBlive.com was great too. Oh, the memories lol.gif

I recall these things!

Live-Web and lurking there the SOY mailing list.

Recall when the guys broadcast from the recording studio? The streamed I think it was for the distance to here? It may have been secret samadhi. I wish someone had that footage and would put it on youtube.


The internet opened up so much for Live fans and I'm thankful for the various resources that allowed us to plan concert meet up and all the awesome people I've met.
