Got the download from Pledge. I asked CT on Facebook if pledgers also get the download, and he responded: Yes.

And a few minutes later i got the download from pledge. Lovely album, i still think Rogerton is an outstanding song, the best song they have done in years.

I agree too. Rogerton is fantastic. Should've been the single.

Maybe sounds crazy, but when Chris changes the vocals immediately after the first chorus (something about a monster.....) the part of the song reminds me of Queen (not just Chris, but the whole thing, vocals & instruments). I know drawing comparisons to iconic bands is bad form, but it's so composed. Anyone think I'm nuts?

My review of The Turn:

01. Siren's Call 9/10
02. Don't Run To Wait 8,5/10
03. Natural Born Killer 8,5/10
04. 6310 Rogerton Dr 10/10
05. By Design 9,5/10
06. The Way Around Is Through 8,5/10
07. Need Tonight 9/10
08. The Strenght To Hold On 9/10
09. We Open The Door 9/10
10. He Could Teach The Devil Tricks 8/10
11. Till You Came Around 8/10

Lovely album, i rank it higher as TDTH at the moment, but time will show how important this album is for me in the future. I really enjoy the album and it has some killer songs like Rogerton and By Design.

It's too early too say: This will be one of my favorite albums of all time, but i'm really excited about this record. It is really something. SHINN IS A KILLER FRONTMAN.

If I were to listen in a vacuum, this is a very solid rock album...nicely done by CCP and Chris Shinn...to me, nothing nearly as ground breaking as albums 1-4 but, independant of comparisons to classic +Live, this is an enjoyable album

SHINN IS A KILLER FRONTMAN.

Mike Patton is a KILLER FRONTMAN.
Ozzy Osbourne is a KILLER FRONTMAN.
Steven Tyler is a KILLER FRONTMAN.

And don't even get me started on the difference between frontmen vs. greatest vocalists of all time, because Steven Tyler and Mike Patton (in example) would fall into both categories, Ozzy would not (due to his lack of range). Chris Shinn is an average to below average frontman and vocalist, admit it!!!!

With that being said, after my first listen, I give this album a 5 out of 10. Later on, maybe I'll give it a 6 out of 10 (I need to listen to it some more). My baseline for my rating is TDTH being a 4 out of 10.

I agree with the majority that Rogerton is the best track.

I've been listening to all the tracks on youtube non-stop for the past few days. I love Rogerton of course, but I really enjoy most of the other songs as well. I won't know the full verdict until the CD plays in my car, but I'm elated to finally hear some Live music that doesn't depress me. I want more.

What are you trying to do here, to convince us so that you feel fine for arguing Chris is below average vocalist? I do not care. What I know is that Chris' vocals fit perfectly with the songs. The rest is just redundant discussion and waste of time.

I'm so happy to have back the heavy guitars and super groovy rhythm section.

Can not stop listening to this album.

For people who say this doesn't sound like a LIVE album, think of this...

Throwing Copper had a different sound than Mental Jewelry. Secret Samadhi had a different sound than those two. The list goes on TDTH, V all different sounds. It was only BOP and SFBM that got a bit "safe" as Dave Grohl said.

Dave Grohl commented on Live? Interesting. I'm interested to hear what other bands thought of Live's direction over the years.

That's also a super-interesting perspective. For all the discussion and arguments we've had here, it can arguably be summed up that BOP and SFBM got a bit "safe".
