Shameful attempt to grab money! I'm actually embarrassed for him. Either be a good person and comply with a request or ignore it. What an ass!

I don't blame the Ed lovers being quiet on this one. Hard to support something like this.

Actually, I have more of a problem with the prices than the concept. He is just way overboard on that - don't do it or don't be an ass. It is a totally blatant cash grab attempt for doing something that a nice person would do occasionally for free without letting anybody know about it.

He probably got asked one and started thinking if I advertise this as getting asked all the time maybe someone would pay for it.

I agree with you guys, this is pretty pathetic. Some of the decisions he's made or goes along with boggles my mind. That doesn't take away from his talent though. I have to separate the music from personal opinions and enjoy it for what it is. I'm definitely not blinded or brainwashed into liking TFATM. I either like it or don't regardless of how much of a douche the artist is, and I happened to think TFATM was one of Ed's best.

Back to the Up Close disgrace, who in their right mind would pay that much money for that? It's shameful and embarrassing. The new website for it is embarrassing too. "Ed's wonderful fans (like yourself)".. no.gif and "a personal performance for just you and your friends with through a video-chat?" Did anyone edit and check for typos?

Do other artists/bands do this? I know CCP advertised their all-you-can-eat brunch buffet with the band for $1200 or whatever it was. Is this normal or are we witnessing the original members of Live falling from grace? facepalm.gif

Yes other bands do this sort of thing. The intimacy of it is based on the numbers in the fan base. For an outrageous amount, you can have front row tickets to Motley Crue, a meet & greet photo op, an autographed guitar & a $400 voucher for concert merch. Oh, and minus Tommy Lee. (Who suddenly hates having his picture taken with Crueheads).

Along the lines with what this poster is saying, I've noticed ppl here bashing Ed for what he sells, but did anyone bash CCC & P's York tour & breakfast VIP party? (I'm too lazy right now to go look). If not, what's different about theirs compared to this venture by Ed?
KISS Toilet Paper or Ed Kowalczyk coffee? Who cares! If someone wants it and has the spare change, go for it. We all work hard.

Exactly Voodoo. You hit the nail there. I think it's fine. A band i worked for now asks 2 grand for their packages. It's crazy but it's how they make the dough.
