It's too bad Ed couldn't capitalize on the American Idol appearance with Chris Doughtry. Playing a song from Live's worst album effort was an utter mistake.

I believe Live performed that song, not just Ed.

Might as well have been just Ed up there with Chris.

Are these shows going to be with his full band or just acoustic sets?

I would imagine full band because of the size of the venues.

Is this tour going to be cancelled?

Looks like 3 Doors permanently lost it's bass player.

3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell was arrested late Friday night (April 19) in Nashville and charged with vehicular homicide following a car crash, according to TMZ.

Police state that Harrell was speeding when his vehicle clipped a pickup truck that proceeded to spin out of control, struck a guardrail and then traveled down an embankment, flipping in the process. According to the reports, the driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. According to local News Channel 5, Harrell’s Cadillac struck a retaining wall and stopped about a quarter of a mile away.

Harrell, who was also arrested on DUI charges last year, allegedly showed signs of impairment during the field sobriety test. He also allegedly admitted to police that he had been drinking hard cider and taking the prescription painkiller Lortab as well as a Xanax.

According to TMZ’s report, the Davidson County Sheriff’s deputies claimed to have discovered a plastic bag in Harrell’s sock that contained more Xanax pills along with Oxycodone and Oxymorphone.

The bassist was charged with vehicular homicide and bringing a controlled substance into the jail. He’s being held on $100,000 bond.

3 Doors Down issued a statement following the arrest on their website. It reads:

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.

The group just announced a new leg of summer dates with Daughtry. It is not known how Harrell’s status will affect the July and August run.

Here's a review with more video from the show:

Ed Kowalczyk sets record breaking temperatures at Jones Beach (Video)
July 18, 2013
By: Sharmila Tredger

Ed Kowalczyk went from "I Alone" plus one to a full band Wednesday night at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. The sultry weather was the perfect backdrop to Kowalczyk’s rock solid verses and exploding choruses. Live’s former lead singer has been touring alongside his bassist and backup vocalist, Chris Heerlein on the I Alone Acoustic Tour since February of this year and has joined forces with guitarist, Zak Loy and drummer, Ramy Antoun, in support of 3 Doors Down and Daughtry.

Ed kicked it into ultrahigh gear, starting off the night with "All Over You", and leading into "The Great Beyond", off his Alive album, as fans lunged from their seats into a ready to rock position. The lustrous and kinetic energy emanating from the stage was as if they lit a barge load of tea light candles. Kowalczyk was without a doubt riding the spiritual rock train when he belted out with "Seven", off of his new album which is titled The Flood and The Mercy. According to Kowalczyk, it’s due to be released in October of 2013, which includes a lyrical collaboration by REM’s guitarist, Peter Buck and singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata.

As the sultriness of the air sustained itself, Ed managed to cut through the layers with classics such as "Dolphin’s Cry"," I Alone" and concluded his set with "Lightening Crashes". The highlight for many Ed Kowalczyk fans was his collaboration with Daughtry on "Overcome". It was executed with such passion by both and echoed by the thousands in attendance.

Ed Kowalczyk’s next stop on his I Alone Acoustic Tour will be on September 7th in Holland, but before he boards that plane, grab tickets to see him and his full band play live. For more information and tour dates, visit Ed’s site. http://edkowalczyk.com/tour-dates

Any full band versions of "Seven" available to watch/hear yet ? Really keen to hear how it translates from acoustic to rock.
