I was just thinking. This new album Live album that is in the works marks the first time since Secret Samadhi, and before that Throwing Copper, and before that Mental Jewelry, that a Live album was created and recorded in or around York Pennsylvania, with strong input from Chad, Chad and Patrick. That being said, I am VERY optimistic about what this album will sound like. I will go so far as to say that I know this thing is going to be great. Now an album being great is not all that it takes to be successful, but it sure as heck helps.

I am not rooting for Live like a sports team or anything, but let's say that this new Live album is a big success. It gets noticed and it gets airplay. Let's say that it is more successful than anything that Live has done since TDTH. How freak'in great would that be?!?!?! How great would it be if that happens to peek into the Ed Kowalczyk camp and see a bunch of blubbering, finger-pointing, remorseful fans huddled in an empty corner and Ed repeatedly hitting himself on the head with his shoe? The one thing that matters to Ed most is the almighty dollar and rock star success. Wouldn't it be poetically sweet if CCP + Shinn take a victory lap under the bright spot lights of success? Ahhh. How sweet it would be to see that irony and justice come to pass.

I don't know if that is possible unless Shinn becomes the new "driving force". We all know CCP are not creative or talented and that Ed was the sole reason for the initial success of Live.

I just think what would be really great would be seeing new people come in here saying "I just heard that new song and thought I'd join up" or even better, old long gone great forum members may hear it and decide to come back to the fold and pop in. The ones that left long ago because they were smarter than the rest of us and when Ed turned things to shit they went "ok, I'm out!" ... if some of them heard it and were blown away and came back I think that'd be pretty cool.

Of course it's all relevant, got to like the music first (im sure I will). But I'm not expecting big things commercially though to be honest, it'll be an extremely modest release I imagine. They deserve more, but realistically I don't think they'd get it, and that'd go for the same with Ed coming back. Hell they might get even a bit more coverage without Ed because it is something interesting and controversial to report on "Live has a new lead singer!" whether they like it or not, they could report on it and get people talking. If Ed just came back it'd be "Live reformed" and not much else to the story than that.

Either way, I just want the music, the rest can sort itself out.

If they promote it well and actually tour for it, a new Live album could definitely sell more copies than SFBM.

I say that not knowing how many copies SFBM sold, but man it couldn't have been many.

I sold my copy on eBay, thus selling the same amount as SFBM that originally sold. I listed it as a "decorative coaster" though.

In response to the OP, I think it would be great. It would be a testament to their talent and their drive. It isn't easy to be on top, fall off, and be able to climb back to some sort of relevance in an industry where every week there is a new band being force fed to the masses.

I never purchased it. That's when I knew the end was near...

We had 20 copies at the Best Buy I was working at. I think we sold one copy and it definitely wasn't to me.

Your avatar would suggest otherwise. You probably wallpapered your room with the artwork from all 20 copies.

I meant Funky's SFBM avatar. But now I would change your avatar. I feel like I need to dip my brain in bleach after looking at that.
