Speaking of egotistical asshole former lead singers...

Went to see Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators this past Thursday night in Baltimore, Md.

Simply put, one damn awesome show. Myles is not trying to sing like Axl, he's singing like Myles.

Check out the new cd, which comes out later this month.

The show was a good mix of Slash's solo stuff, Guns N Roses, and Velvet Revolver. Funny thing about Velvet Revolver is that Myles Kennedy was offered the lead singer part before Scott Weiland was, and he turned it down.

Myles isn't trying to replace Axl, that is known. Axl decided that he wanted to be bigger than the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, which is quite simply pathetic. Nobody is bigger than the RNRHOF. Myles was asked by Slash and the rest of GNR to join them onstage. Somebody had to sing. I thought that Myles did a great job. The guys even made it a point a few times to thank Myles directly after the performance and to introduce him to the crowd and the viewers.

No, they won't be doing any Alter Bridge stuff on the tour. It's Slash's tour.

Really? Why did they do Rise Today last time Myles toured with Slash then? wink.gif

I know they will be coming to Russia like last year when I was not aware they were here. Still hating myself for that. I will be front row if they come with a gig, screaming all the songs I will learn by heart

Agreed, and with the Tremonti cd coming out this summer, it should be a good summer for real rock music.

Funny enough, I never really enjoyed Slash's guitaring. I never was a fan of GnR. But Myles' voice fits this music perfectly well and I think that when I spin this recording, I will change my mind about Slash. Well, at least I hope to do that.
