After seeing LIVE at the Strand and hearing the re-records of the Throwing Copper classics I'm starting to get very excited for their new shit. I have been listening nonstop to everything Shinn has done in the past and I still can't wrap my head around what LIVE's new tunes will sound like. OTD has mentioned the clips he has heard sound very Secret Samadhi. In my opinion they could never go wrong with that direction/sound. Hopefully we'll get a little teaser clip soon to give us a taste of what's to come. Sorry if this was already a previous topic, but I'm getting kind of antsy for some updates. I guess no news is good news???

I've been listening to Shinn's solo stuff the last few days. It's really laid back but lyrically I think he will fit right in with LIVE. He obviously has a killer voice. I have no doubts the new stuff will rock. Can't wait to hear it! rockin.gif

I expect something right down the middle. The album will be better than TGF but not up to S.S. The lyrics will sound forced on some songs but the music will be great. I expect longer guitar solos and a bone tossed to York via the album artwork or song direction. It will genuinely connect to the past but will lack the lyrical intensity of TC.

The single will receive radio play but will not crack the top ten in the U.S. It will do better than TGF and ED put together though. It will fade much faster than we would have liked and they won't be able to pick it back up with a second single.

Overall this whole community will love it thumbsup.gif We will all buy it.

I don't see why Ed wouldn't sell close to the number of albums he sold with Alive. He's still got fans that enjoy what he does, and many of those fans won't enjoy what Live is doing.

That makes sense. Sadly, those people would rather antagonize Live fans.

Anyhow, I suspect the Live album will be rock and roll which is something that no one has been able to say for a decade.

He also "didn't expect" there to be any positive reaction to Live returning with CS, but those vids that OTD posted showed otherwise.
