Found a couple of videos on YouTube. I'm not 100% sure of the date, so I'm just going by the date they were uploaded... If anybody can confirm this, then it would be much appreciated.

Ed performs I Alone and Lightning Crashes as well as a brief interview.

Uggh, really. Couldn't he have at least done Rome or something from his new album. Sheesh, what's the point of "branching out" from Live to explore different avenues if it's just going to be "I Alone" and "Lightning Crashes" at every turn?

e: Watched the videos, used more of a low register than usual and I liked the guitar he used. It wasn't his usual Takamine Acoustic/Electric and he seemed to be able to play this a bit better (which is natural). Lost count of the "Oh Sweet Lord Above" which occurs in about every bridge of every song.

LOL @

Interviewer: "How is that solo career going?"

Ed: "Incredibly well..."

Then Ed proceeds to play Live songs.

It looks like the people that work at the station had to bring their kids in to fill up the audience. Those little teenage girls at the front left looked thrilled to be there didn't they.

I try really hard to not bash Ed but he is a walking contradiction. First of all, his fans are far from "unanimous" about his new band. Secondly, if your solo career is going so great, play a few songs from that record.

I wish he would wake up from the fog he's in and realize that being a part of something great is what he needs............not trying to be something great on his own.

Looks like some form of indoctrination.

Ed good. CCP bad.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. He should just retire instead of just embarrassing himself like this.

Ed did play some stuff off Alive - Here's his performance of Stand.

Ed does say when he was in Live that he "was the main songwriter, all the lyrics and melodies and most of the music."

Which is such bullshit unless he's referring to the post 2000 Live alumbs and just hope no one questions it further so he doesn't have to reveal he didn't mean when Live were actually good.
This is the sort of stuff that shits me, completely disrespecting the efforts and accomplishments of CCP. It's another contradiction again, if he wanted to go solo so he could have more control then what's the point if he apparently "wrote most of the music in Live". He just makes it really hard to respect him as a person, musical opinions aside.

This guy is such a joke. What happened to the Ed from back in the day? Money? Greed? Coffee?

If he wants to be solo, then stop playing all Live songs. Cause your basically trying to still be Live because NOBODY KNOWS who you are if it was not for them.

Even people my age now who grew up listening to Live have little to no clue who Ed is. I even had a picture of us together after a show and someone thought it was my older brother.

If you're not a fan of Ed, why are you posting in an Ed dedicated forum? hehe.gif

Oh you're so clever! Because I'm a fan of Live and actually contribute to the main Live section of this forum which Ed is just a part of as opposed to only being here for a minute section of the forum and contributing nothing else positive like some people! Sort of like going to a sports forum for a team and only being there for one particular player.

I see you point though, shame if I said I'd stay out of the Ed section and did so if you'd stay out of the Live section you'd never do it.
