The other day I was listening to one of my favorite albums - Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill Acoustic.

That's right, Alanis Morissett re-made her popular album as an acoustic version of the album. It's great. And I'm sure that it was great for sales for her too.

So I started thinking, if Live re-boots with a new lead singer, couldn't this be a good way to tie the new singer into the old Live catalog and legitimize the new Live's effort to play the old songs in concert. The new lead singer could be a part of those songs and "own" them so to speak, if Live came out with an acoustic album of some of the old songs. We never satisfied our need to see MTV Unplugged released. Or maybe a live concert album. Or what if they re-recorded some of the great old unreleased stuff that they made with the new singer. Could they legally do any of that? Sure, Ed would get some sort of royalty for the album sales for the old Live material. But wouldn't that be cool? And then when we have spun the Live unplugged acoustic album with the new lead singer a thousand times, it would be really cool to hear him play it in concert.

I'm just thinking of things.

To follow up with that idea how about an original album with a second disc or a few bonus tracks of old recorded material that had a high C,C&P influence.

There have been plenty of great acts that have redone their songs and released them later.

The first CD Alter Bridge released was songs mostly done by Stapp/Tremonti (if I am not mistaken but could have been mostly songs done by Tremonti) and Myles Kennedy just showed up and sang them.

It wasn't until their second album that Kennedy had a bigger influence.

This could be the case with CCP and the new lead if there are any songs (instrumental or that people don't really know about) that the new lead could step in on.

I wouldn't want he/she stepping in and doing "popular" unlreleased songs like Hold Me Up or anything, but if there is stuff on the shelf that could be good way to start.

The first Alter Bridge cd was pretty much all Tremonti. I don't believe there was any work done at all previously by Stapp.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. I knew it was Tremonti but was not sure if Stapp had any part in it.
