I'm not sure how much it matters, honestly. There would be a quality difference for sure, but the album is heavily compressed so it won't be better by leaps and bounds.

Now, if they would sell the 24 bit pre-mastering mixes, I am all there. I prefer the earlier board mix of Appetite to the final product and would love to hear the rest in the same fashion.

I still need to actually listen to the vinyl and see how it came out.

This sounds like the video game wars of the 80's and early 90's. 8-bit, 16 bit. I loved my Nintendo despite the constant need to blow into cartridges and high priced cleaners.

Nintendo was for pussies, no offense. Sega Genesis was still way better, and the PS3 is still way better than the Wii. Fuck you, sock monkey!

Sure, it isn't possible to enjoy both Sega AND Nintendo, or Wii AND PS3.

I always liked Nintendo better than Sega, except for Sega Gamegear which kicked Gameboys butt.

IMHO the best gaming system ever was Nintendo 64. Nothing beats WCW vs. NWO World Tour or WWE No Mercy as far as wrestling video games go, and the debut of Mario Kart took racing games to a whole new level.

The problem with 64 was that it soon became a console that seemed to be just aimed at children. Which I know is weird when you're talking about gaming but besides a few good games early on Playstation wiped the floor with the 64 as it just had access to a heap of better games. 64 became all pokemon and cartoon games and such in the later years. Then the gamecube seemed to just pick up where it left off.
Although agreed I do miss the old wrestling games like World Tour and Wrestlemania 2000. They were the best wrestling games until one of the Smackdown vs Raw's came out, I think it was 2006 or something, the one with the General Manager mode, I loved that thing. Although WWE12 that is coming out late this year is getting lots of interest.

Oh, in regards to the TGF thing .. as Dan said if they released this and I was just listening to it via mp3 and such I doubt I'd be able to hear THAT much of a difference to really warrant buying it again.

You're right Poke, Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 is still the top wrestling video game ever. Unfortunately PS3 no longer is backwards compatible with PS2 games.

PS if you're a Back to the Future fan, the new game by Telltale is off the charts!

I'm loving the video game chatter.

N64 is alright, I love a few of the games on it. However, the PSone had so much awesome stuff especially in the RPG realm. Nintendo missed out by staying with the cartridge.

My top systems are the NES and the PS2, but I love Genesis and SNES era.

I have a Sega Genesis, Wii, PS2 and a PS3. I still rarely play games. The PS3 is so fucking dominant it's not even close, but the Wii is still fun. Because I really don't play games that much, the PS3 is way better because it has all the other features such as Blu-Ray. The PS2 is classic in its own way. The N64 is without question the WORST gaming system ever.

I have never had any Playstations or the sort. My choice is good old school Sega, Dendy (we had it in Russia, dunno how it is called everywhere else, it is a NES thing) and you know what? I wasted a pretty sum of money to buy a portable device with a screen that is able to emulate Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Dendy, Sega, Super Nintendo etc etc. It also has 2 additional joysticks and can be connected to the TV to play full screen. Quite a thing yanno! I play it everyday on my way to work =)

What kind of NES games does anyone enjoy?

Things are never the same when they go off topic and then get their own thread. It doesn't feel as naughty discussing them where you're supposed to sad.gif

I'm in the middle of playing Dragon Age Origins, totally loving it. Will move on to LA Noir on pay day

I've had a Playstation and Playstation 2 in my time - both wonderful and brilliant. Never had a PS3 or XBox of any kind, though I would opt for the former if I had to get one. The latter, though, I'm sure is still good.

The Wii is great but for a different kind of purpose. Unless you're all hardcore gamers who want some kind of multiplayer warfare game, then the Wii is super for pick-up-and-play fun with your mates. And Mario Kart is, for me, one of the best games of all time. Hands down, completely serious, it's one of the best.
