Live's Ed Kowalcyzk with Mission Hill
Former lead singer of the multi-platinum rock band Live, Ed Kowalczyk’s powerful voice and earnest songwriting drove his band to astounding success. Performing all the hits (“Lightning Crashes”, “I Alone”, “All Over You”, “Selling the Drama”, and more), plus selections from his critically acclaimed solo debut Alive, Ed remains one of alternative rock’s most influential stars.

I don't know how these promo's work but I'm guessing the artist does the description or the foundation for it? (Maybe somebody knows how this works)

If that is the case then by his own admission Ed has gone from Ed of Live to Ed formerly of Live.

I'd say that's a pretty strong statement on the reuniting of Live campaign.

I may be wrong but I get the impression Ed has no desire to rejoin Live. He seems content playing the hits, freely creating his own music, touring how he wants (on a small scale), and taking in the majority of the profits from his tour.

Bottom line - he gets the benefit of connecting people to Live without having to actually be part of Live.

Its sad that "all the hits" come from one album.

I am starting to see it that way too. A LIVE reunion is no longer imminent. They may get back together one day, but I no longer see it happening soon.

I don't know why anyone really thought it was going to happen soon. The only real evidence we had of this was CT saying he might try talk to Ed in June and see where they are at. That could mean anything and have any one of a huge number of outcomes, eg extending the hiatus, disbanding all together, talk about releasing old material. There was nothing to suggest a Live reunion was on the cards.
The TGF boys using the Live FB account more often again isn't a sign, it's their band, they should be able to keep the memory active. Ed sure as hell is with the fact he won't let the Live songs go in concert. Candlebox doing some dates is also no sign at all, that was on the cards for quite some time and in no way spells doom for TGF in the slightest.
I think people are just way too easily excitable.

The fact that TGF have only a handful of dates scheduled for this year through summer, isn't a good sign. They are a new band that has to get out there so people can hear them. Summer festival season is the perfect time for that to occur.

That's not the point, it's in relation to a Live reunion. I'm saying nothing has been said to even really give me any sort of inkling that it was on the horizon.

Yes, it's all too wrong in your eyes. They will get out there to be heard when they and their mgt plan it to be. Ed seems to have a lot of extra cash to tour. Wonder how that came to be? rolleyes.gif

Ed has no interest.....that has already been stated if you carefully read. Ed, wanted his solo career for over a decade. Why would he want to come back to Live? He's singing his new versions of the songs now. He has no real motivation. The fans would like it, as #1 priority, but when has Ed cared about the fans? Years have passed since that time.

Ed, wanted his solo career for over a decade.

With the exception of a few collaborative songs on BOP Ed has been a solo artist since 2003 with the rest of Live simply backing his music and vision.

Dimi, would you go to see Ed live in concert for free, if you had the chance?

Yes. If I get a chance to talk to him afterwards - I would go twice. I never saw Ed in real life.
