Pretty hard to get into I must say. Like some of Live' albums took me a few listens to really get into, this takes even a few more.

If you can appreciate something a bit more experimental and songs that can last for ten or more minutes, give it a try.

I saw funkyredcaboose is familiar with them, any other takers?

Agree - TMV are a slow burn to get into but offer some off the beaten path creativity that is well worth the ride.

I have De-Loused in the Comatorium and Francis the Mute. Both are good records!

I also liked At the Drive In, the singer's previous band, which is a bit more straight forward and on the aggressive/heavy side.

Bloody brilliant band. I might be in the minority, but I think their two best records are Amputechture and The Bedlam in Goliath.

To me, they are the current best band in rock. Just, insane stuff.

Another band I am into right now Animals As Leaders. All instrumental metal/jazz/progressive rock. It is something to hear.

I love Deloused and most of Frances, but got kind of bored with the band after that. I love all things ATDI, and I'm excited about the reunion!!!

Also, as TFRC mentioned, Animals as Leaders is a really cool band. I saw them a few months ago on the Thrice Farewell Tour.

I hung out with Thrice and AaL on one of the farewell tour stops. Really cool guys and I admit that I had a loss for words meeting the AaL guys.

nice! which show did you go to? I live in Columbus, OH, and they didn't come through for this tour, so the wife and I drove to Detroit to see them. It was a great show, all 3 bands rocked. I've seen Thrice countless times, and it was the 4th time seeing O'Brother. My first time seeing AaL, and they didn't disappoint.
