At the moment it would be Guilty Fever, Closer being a close second.

Without having heard "Sing" or "All I Hear" I'm leaning toward Closer. I'll be very disappointed if they don't push that to radio. Radio needs more songs like that.

EDIT: I just got off the phone with a friend of mine and he was all raving about this Breaking Benjamin song "Lights Out". I went and listened to it and I couldn't even make it through half of the song. I am so sick and tired of cut n' paste "rock" that I could drink a quart of buzzard's puke and die of the screaming shits. Just one more reason I am thrilled to have The Gracious Few.

One of the reasons I never listen to radio and enjoy TGF that much. Seriously, most mainstream totally sucks ass. Many, many, many bands that I did enjoy are being sucked up by this shit... releasing shit records, that suck ass big time and are just totally over-produced and raped. TGF is making rock music as it was meant to be... screaming guitars, great drums and a singer of whom you can actually hear his voice as it actually does sound. Not fucked up by some twit-shit sitting behind his pc fucking it all up with some tunes here and there, blanding the instruments together and whatnot.

Anyways... I'm drifting off.

I think you mean perfect pitch and auto tune.

I agree 110% with this. Pro Tools has given imbeciles sound engineering jobs. Where are the real artists in that area of the industry anymore? Who gives a shit if something sounds "perfect" or not?

Don't get me wrong. I get that Pro Tools has made recording a lot more efficient and perhaps even less pricey... but to rely on it? To lean on it? Fuck that. Too many people are using digital capabilities as a crutch rather than as a creative tool. Are we eventually going to produce the human element out of music completely? Ooops, looks like we're just about there now... IPB Image

To me all it does is encourage laziness on the behalf of both musicians and sound engineers. Producing music is no harder than clicking a few buttons and moving your cursor around. I'm sorry, but that is not a representation of creativity. That's dicking around on your computer to me. Not much difference in that than in playing Super Mario Bro. 3 on your cute little emulator. (not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that...)

Steve Albini may be a big penishead in some people's minds, but the guy is right about a lot of things.

Never heard of Steve Albini before, but pretty interesting stuff he is talking about - gonna check that out further.

I just simply hate music in which you cannot distinguish the different instruments. With some songs I am wondering what I am actually hearing. With TGF I can actually hear CG go nuts on the drums. tongue.gif

True, but you cannot call it music anymore, then. Music is a form of art, a way to express yourself and there is emotion. There is no way a computer can create emotion.

Closer is awesome, but Nothing But Love gets my vote. Catchy tune, sick bass and the solo in the middle is awesome. TGF is immensely talented.

I love Honest Man, but I find myself skipping it for The Few, Closer, and Nothing But Love. Those 3 seem to be the 3 that are getting the most plays right now.

I could not agree more!!! I really was starting to think I was the only person on the entire fucking planet that isn't in love with every piece of shit cookie cutter band that is getting airplay these days! Seriously, listening to that fucking Siruius Octane channel waiting to hear Honest Man makes me want to slit my wrists! What the fuck has happened to "rock" music and will it ever get better is my question?! What worries me though is that TGF does not fit in with all of this other bullshit lame ass music that almost everyone wants to hear so nobody is ever going to hear them! I'm just hoping they keep making music for the few real music fans out there that really appreciate their music so that I at least have one fucking band to believe in! Christ!

Anyway, to respond to the original topic. I did hear most of the songs live at Fat Daddy's but at this point since I haven't listened again to most of them I can't really choose until Tuesday. You know, once I have blasted that son of a bitch 100 times in a fucking row! I'll get back to you.

It's a self-perpetuating machine. People like the schlock that's on the radio because that's all they hear. I've played TGF songs to dozens of people and I've only found one person who did not like anything they heard. Everyone else found at least one song that they really liked. If TGF can get any fucking air play it'll get some steam behind it but radio chimps won't play music that people don't like, and people can't like what they can't hear.

It's gonna be on us to spread this as much as we can. It's going to be slow at first but if we keep passing on the word it's got a chance to explode.
