Ed's Alive has been listed in the "Gospel Music Channel's Summer of Rock Top 10" list.

The lead-in for the list:

Summer is the season for singing along, whether it’s in the car with the windows rolled down, with an old-school boom box on the beach, or a personal MP3 player on a sweaty jog in the blazing sun. There’s been a surge of uplifting rock albums released throughout June, July and August to ensure a literal ability to rock around the clock. Catch these ten top not-to-miss choices from several familiar faces – and some fresh-faced power chord pumpers – that are sure to engage, inspire and uplift.

The writeup on Alive is:

The Act: Ed Kowalczyk
The Album: Alive (Soul Whisper Records/Provident)
The Sound: Grunge Rock
The Scoop: For the past decade and a half, Ed Kowalczyk served as lead singer for mainstream standouts Live, the grunge rockers who racked up sales of over 20 million albums over the span of five chart-topping singles and a myriad of top-ten tunes. Though the band’s been stagnant since 2006, the leader branched out on his own in 2009, starting with a solo acoustic tour featuring members of Sixpence None the Richer and Everclear, followed by this studio session with producer CJ Eiriksson (U2, Matchbox Twenty), resulting in his most overtly spiritual disc to date.

Others on the list are: Newsboys; Robert Randolph & The Family Band; Future of Forestry; John Mellencamp; Ivoryline; The Choir; Chris August; Jordan Elias; and House of Heroes.

Yeah once we see the words Grunge Rock then the rest of the article can be ignored.

Well, yes, perhaps that might be the tipoff for some to ignore the rest of the article. On the other hand, for those who are not long-time followers of Live, the recognition by the Gospel Music Channel just might help push Alive higher in sales.

Buckets of religious irony taking place in this post.

All 90's bands were not grunge and Live was never grunge. Was this guy born after grunge or is he that fucking stupid?

Exactly, the fact Live were never grunge just strips this writer of any credibility.

As to the comment above about this being good to push Alive's sales.... whoopie! I'll sleep easier tonight!
