I was driving in my car yesterday and "I Alone" came on the radio. It's been a while since I heard a Live song on the radio, so I cranked it up. Immediately after the song this was the commentary by the radio host:

"That was I Alone by Live, who is no more. They broke up a while back over money issues. The lead singer, Ed Kowalczyk, just released his solo album Alive, which is in stores now. It's actually not doing very well ... at all, kind of like Live the past few years"

That was not a paraphrase either. That's an exact quote my friends!

(Even the pause before "at all") He really emphasized it.

Yes, especially obnoxious ones who discuss facts such as Live/Ed K not being relevant in the music world since 2000.

I thought you didn't care if an artist sold well or was "relevant" in the music world? You stated that many times before when discussing The Gracious Few or your own band for that matter.

What about my comment makes you think I care about it? The fact that I don't use that as a barometer for music doesn't make what the DJ said any less accurate.

Relevant to a DJ or to the masses doesn't matter to real fans of a group. Ed has his fans, TGF has theirs, and Live has more than both. All 3 acts should be fine for years to come.

As a real fan of Live I say the band has sucked since TDTH (with a few songs that make a slight exception), I like the sound of Ed's album but say the lyrics have gone totally down the shitter, and like the sound of TGF so far.

Live really hasn't been relevent for a decade now - throught the fault of their change in musical style.

This is so contrary to most of the posts you make on this board that I don't know whether to think you've changed your mind or that you just make it all up as you go.

I'm a fan of Ed's music because I like it. What drew me to Live in the first were the themes of spirituality, and that was mainly Ed. I want Ed to do well, but I'm his fan no matter what.
