A nice little promotion by the promoter.

Wow - what is the exchange rate? They are $25 in Detroit (I mean Flint) and if I go I would plan on just buying them at the door and it's a small venue.

Will $59.90 (which seems like an odd amount - maybe Australians won't realize the price is really $60) really sell in Austraila?

According to this currency converter AU$59.90 = US$54.40
Of course there are extra booking fees on top of that amount.

This is pretty standard for mid-range international acts touring Australia. Ed actually charged the same amount when he toured solo last year.

Ed should do quite well this tour.

Btw, this is the venue where I'll be seeing Ed. (Metropolis Fremantle)

That looks like a strip club .. will Ed be doing pole dancing on this tour?

Here's the venue for Melbourne:

IPB Image

Its by far the best venue in Melbourne, he played there last time, it's a great choice. Obviously the tables wont be there .. theres rowed seating and booths to the right of camera in this picture and the big standing area infront of the stage. capacity is about 1500. Great views everywhere you are, beautiful decorations inside with the roof looking like it's open night sky, the walls are lined with statues and gargoyles and such. Best sounding venue in Melbourne too, never seen a band play there that didn't have perfect sound.

Really hope TGF plays here too!

edit: I'm still not going though haha.

It's a night club (5 different bars), but reasonable sized bands also play there. eg. silverchair, Supergrass, Manic Street Preachers, Lilly Allen, Sonic Youth, Michael Franti, Stereophonics.
The capacity would be around 1,400.

I found an article promoting Ed's Australian tour.

QUOTE
Ed Kowalczyk tour.
Local News by grattan, 10th August, 2010

Feeling an unexplainable need to indulge in 90s nostalgia? You’re in luck; former leadsinger of the band Live, Ed Kowalczyk will be touring his debut solo album later this year.

Live went on hiatus after releasing 2006’s Songs from Black Mountain album – and with Kowalczyk’s former bandmates suing for unpaid royalties and claiming that he was demanding a $100,000 “lead singer bonus” to play at festivals – it seems that we’re unlikely to ever see Live live again.

Kowalczyk played a successful tour of Australia last year – proving that Australian audiences like the singer more than his ex-Live band mates – and he will return in October to play songs from the Live back catalogue and from his debut solo debut Alive, which is apparently more explicity religious than his work on Live’s seven albums.

this place is like a minute away from my house. ive had plenty of rough nights there. saw live here on their awake tour which was cool albeit small for a full band show. 60 bucks is a bit steep but less than what i'll spend at the bar.

Wrong venue. Live were at Metro City (in Northbridge) on the Awake tour lol.gif

That's the thing with shows at clubs. Even though tickets are usually less than what they'd be in an arena, it's offset by having a bar only a few metres away...

Has anybody seen a concert there recently? How thorough are they are detecting items that shouldn't be brought into the venue?
