So, guys, as I have already stated in the Chad Taylor letter thread, back in 2003 I started my own project over at WFT, where I wanted all the fans to participate and write a book about our fave band> I wanted to gather ALL the possible interviews, loads of pictures and fans' show reviews spanning all the Live carreer.

It was there for about a year as a huge cathegory, but then people started losing their interest in the band and I deleted it all with a heavy heart

But now's the time. After we received the reply from Chad and we got Good_Pain's and swami's posts about them writing a book, it got me thinking again.

My friends, why not start creating a compilation of our own right fucking NOW and right fucking HERE?

We can either have a thread or a whole new cathegory (if Dan is kind enough) and I am eager to help moderating it and keep the project going. But for now we can compile the fan's thoughts and reviews and what not all through the years of following our fave band.

When we get it done (in several months, days or decades wahaha) someone who goes to a gig can have it printed and give it to the band during the meet and greet. OR even before or during the show, as, for instance, my recordings were handed to Adam while on stage during the shooting of Paradiso...

So, my friends, any thoughts? Who wants to participate in the project, help and get it running?

Once again, with this post I can say that I will eagerly moderate and run this project for as long as needed.

Thoughts?

With this thought stated, I am first of all mostly interested in:

1. Who wants to help and get involved? I think, we need a lot of people to do that and that is why we need a PILE of thoughts about whether to do it or not.
2. I will be honoured to have stories by the buds, who collected stories about Live and took part in some of them, that is swami, Good Pain and several other who said they were writing or THINKING about writing about the band
3. I will definitely love to have Fish's pictures for the book. His work is tremendous, as I recall it. And for sure I would be interested to get as many fan pics as possible.

C'mon, guys, THOUGHTS!

Sounds great. I think from the start, to help the project stay focussed and reach a destination - you'll need to come up with some kind of structure and organisation. Really pin down what you want, what you need etc. Just so you don't end up with 100 people's opinions on everything, and then find it hard to order into a cohesive product.

Great idea. It's a shame I won't have much to add to it, really, having never seen the guys. lol.gif

Thanks, John, my first supporter here. Why don't we try and write all together? Or you wanna do it all alone?

If we compile 1 huge book with the help of loads of fans, it will be bigger, fuller and more thorough for sure. You can simply be the chief writer or whatever you wanna call it.

Sure. But first I want OPINIONS. We may also have a chapter or a subchapter in the book by those who are eager to write but never saw the band live.

You know, I start it, I am willing to write, I am a published author with 3 books after all, but I have never seen the band on stage laugh.gif

You should really plan it all before you tell people to start writing. Maybe, anyway.

Could try tell the story of Live from the fans perspective. From early shows with pictures and shit, through the TC years all the way to now. Just some kind of structure to proceedings.

Ray, I am not asking people to write anything yet. For sure I will give it a good structure, etc etc, for now I simply wanna know what people think, who wants to participate and whether to start it at all.

I used to pencil it down at my board and I also have a tiny book with a plan somewhere in my wardrobe. So the structure is no problem. I just want to share the opinions first. Then we will alltogether decide on the format and etc

As stated, I entitled that project:

First there was the word. And the word was LIVE.

But the name is also something we will all discuss. Straight OUtta York, Born in Shit Towne, Selling The Mamma into the Summer... it will all surface... as soon as we start
