Actually, I only voted once or twice a day.

Alternative Addiction doesn't fully go by votes. The guys in charge have to actually like the song in order to make the top of the chart. For example, people voted between certain people voted over 100 times for the gracious few last week(which I bet is really on the high end of votes on that site), yet their chart debut was only #14(not even the top debut for the week).

I fully believe that voting is just one criteria to reach the top of the chart. Otherwise, a single person could vote 500 times per week and control the chart for weeks at time.

I am not sure of the exact details but I can vouch that this site doesn't do anything just based on votes or downloads. Story:

Last summer my band's single sat atop the Downloads chart on this same site for its entire 3 month run and never fell below the third spot. This included staying above acts like Better Than Ezra and Third Eye Blind.

Yet, we never made the chart for top Unsigned bands, even though more people were downloading our single than at least four of the bands on the chart. I e-mailed them several times to find out how we could be considered, but it was never made clear to me.

Not ripping on the site, because they can run it however the hell they like, just confirming what Nick said. I imagine this list is determined by votes AND downloads.

(And no, they won't get money from us again but it was good promo)
