Lethal diarrhea? Lay it on me. Touch of gout? Time to shout. Going blind? Learn Braille.

Just wondering, as I've had this shitty fever that reinvents itself with every passing day and is now displaying itself in the wonderful form of oral herpes (that's not the dirty one btw), whether anyone else is currently under the weather as well? It would make me feel better knowing one of you has a severed limb or something...

Get on some Valtrex man. Valacyclovir 1,000mg twice daily will make you feel much better.

Have gal stones which can be extremely painful, but managable still. They've only ever really flared up twice, not fun times. Had chicken pox late last year .. that was a horrible 4 weeks, knocked me silly.

Cheers Ex though I think Valtrex is only for the genital condition, which thankfully I don't have. Though if you can recommend something for my cyanide throat, I'm all ears smile.gif I've heard some nasty shit about Gallstones Pokey, that can't be fun. Was that your first bout of chicken pox? I thought it only really happened to young children.

Yeah I never got it before, I thought I might have gotten away with it, but it caught up with me at 24! It was horrible, I was covered in spots, absolutely everywhere on my scalp to even the bottom of my feet. It actually wasnt as itchy as people made it out to be, it was like having some really bad super flu. Could barely move and just ached. The spots were just like bad blisters, kinda sore .. thankfully theres barely been any scarring, a tiny bit on my forehead and cheek but thats all.

And yeah the gallstones suck, for the most part you don't notice they're there but when they hit they fucking hit hard.

That's unfortunate you got it late as it's more severe in adults. I think you can get gallstones removed but that would probably be more painful than just having to deal with their flare ups once in a while. Love the new AV btw, I do believe it's that Scottish maniac from the Thick of It

Yeah I dont think they're serious enough to get the operation ... you can get meds which will slowly disolve them over a long period of time, but still undecided.

haha yes it would, Malcolm Tucker (actor: Peter Capaldi), the insane scotish Director of Communications at Number 10 ... I just figured with all the angry fighting going on here it's appropriate to have him there now. I think I still live and abide by "Tuckers Law" :

Glad you're healthy Ray. I have my Masters issertation due in less than two weeks and I can honestly say that not getting a wink of sleep every night isn't helping.

Haha Pokey I was just thinking that everyone seems to be shittin' on eachother on here lately. I think everything will even out once TGF record drops. Right, now for some pills...

Nope, Valtrex is for HSV-1 and HSV-2, the only two culprits that could be causing your condition. The most likely is HSV-1, which most studies suggest is the more susceptible to Valtrex of the two. Remember, I get my MD in less than a year. banana.gif

Cheers Dr Ex - I had no idea you were studying for an MD! Anyway, just got myself back from the doctors. I have tonsilitis and shingles. And a week's worth of meds to sort it out. You should see my face now, it's a warzone - like I've dribbled boiling cheese and it's dried all over my chin

I've got some kind of recurrent stomach thing. Could be gastro-enteritis. Could be something worse.

had this for years. enoscopy revealed no sign of celiac disease so doctors diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome and said bad luck. A miserable year later i tried a gluten free diet and everything resolved itself. You dont have to have celiac disease to be sensitive to gluten.

look into it if you've already eliminated lactose intolerance as the problem.

Could be some sort of fructose Malabsorption? I'm not on a strict gluten free diet, but I have adjusted to cut out certain foods and it's certainly made a difference, I went down the same road of having celiac ruled out and then them just going with irritable bowel.
