I didn't see anything posted yet so I thought I'd mention it.

Vic Chesnutt, who toured with Live back in 1994 just after Throwing Copper was released, has passed away. Vic was in a coma for a few days, apparently due to a self-inflicted suicide attempt (that if true was ultimately successful).

Ed and Vic did a duet for the song "Supernatural" that Live ultimately covered on the Unplugged session and appeared on the "Sweet Relief II" compilation in 1996.

That is sad news.

Supernatural is one of my favorite songs. Is there a place to down that Sweet Release II compilation?

'Supernatural' can also be found on some versions of the Lakini's Juice single (vinyl and CD). There are a few on eBay at the moment.

Damn sad.gif I love Vic's music. I bought his albums Drunk and About to Choke shortly after getting ahold of Live's few versions of Supernatural. In 2006 I saw him perform at Winnipeg Folk Festival and I was able to speak with him and have him autograph my copy of Drunk. He was a great musician.

"This is a song called Supernatural. It's my song. Live covered it. They suck."

I was really bummed to hear this.

My first exposure to him was Supernatural but years later when Widespread Panic became my favorite band I was introduced to much more of his stuff. Panic covers his stuff and he would sit in with them from time to time. Such a talented guy, really sad. sad.gif

When I saw Vic, he opened for Live, and when he performed Supernatural Ed came out and performed the song with him as a duet.

In retrospect, that was a pretty sweet tour. Angelfish (Shirley Manson's band before Garbage and Sarah Connor Chronicles fame) and Vic opened for them and it was right before the media blowup that occurred for Live when I Alone and Lightning Crashes became radio hits.
