I'd like to hit up the House of Blues show. I've seen LIVE there 2 or 3 times and it's great venue. I have to say though, I'm a little hesitant. I'm a big believer in principle and I honestly don't want to support someone who did the things that Ed did to his band and to his fans. I have to assume it's true because he really hasn't come out and explained anything.

I don't know. I'll probably skip the show.

Ed is not obligated to explain away accusations to anyone, especially something that could go to trial. The first thing a lawyer will tell their client is to stay shut.

Either way, passing up a good show because someone onstage may have done something to someone else just does not make sense when thinking logically. I am sure that every person here has done something shitty to someone else throughout the course of their life. Who can really judge someone without being a hippocrite.

And in this case it's all allegedly right now. It's not like he's Gary Glitter.

No more Who musix for you, either. The Doors, neither. The Stones (their gazillion drug arrests). The Beatles (John threw Yoko the stairs, allegedly. They were all druggies. Blah blah blah).

A lot of people do and don't do a lot of things due to principle. They choose not shop at certain stores or buy this product or that because all kinds of personal, religious, or other reasons. I don't think that's unheard of. I don't recall ever once stating that Ed somehow owed me some sort of personal explanation. He certainly does not. At the same time, I can choose whether or not to support someone with my money based on their behavior.

I'm not a crusader or anything like that, but just like when a particular store pisses me off, the only thing I can really do is not spend my money there. it's not that complicated.

I can vouch for what Chris is saying on personal levels. I withhold my funds if something is not sort of right with a sitution which I support and the facts say, why should I continue to support with my $$.

On the other hand, I can say I will be plunking down $$ for TGF shows and CD's.

The only thing Ed ever did to anyone on this board is give each of us many years of entertainment. Those are the only "facts" that I am 100 percent aware of.

I guess you never tickets buy from Ticketmaster or other greedy corportations? I suppose you only attend sporting events where all the players/coaches are nice guys as well? The whole argument is just idiotic.

It's not idioic at all.

I boycott Comcast at all costs. I stopped going to NHL Hockey games and the team owned by Comcast. The product has been turned to shit by a guy who resembles Napolean and the team I like has become more than a corporation. It's all about marketing now and nothing of it once was so I do not spend my $$ on it.

Exactly. I make a lot of money and I spend it too. You have to earn my money. Sure, there's a line, and there's also practicality, but I make my choices when I can. When a local restaurant totally pissed me off, I stopped going there. I spent my money elsewhere. Eventually, enough people got pissed of and now the place is closed. Unfortunately, there's little you can do except express your feelings with your wallet.

Yes... like my favorite restaurant, Ed gave me nearly 2 decades of entertainment, albeit a lot less in the 2nd, but neverthless, if he did those things to the band... and I'm assuming he did since he has not come out with any explanation which is his choice, than that makes him a shitty person and I'd rather not support him. Perhpas if enough people expressed their displeasure in things, in a fair and civil way, there'd ultimately may be less things to be displeased about. If everyone continually just says, "oh fuck it... what do I care" then it allows companies, people, etc. to be total dicks and get away with it. Again, I'm not on a crusade, and I'm not out to rally anyone. It's just how I conduct myself.

And you never have been a dick to other people? You lived a perfect life and are a candidate for sainthood?

How do you read that into anything I said and I'm wondering why you feel the need to come at me. I wasn't saying anything about you, or anyone else here, or how you should conduct yourself.

Of coure I've been a dick at times. Who hasn't. But being a dick is not the same thing as maliciously fucking over people. And if I mistreat anyone, it usually comes back around I've found.

So save your witty jabs. It's silly and tired.

I wasn't trying to personally attack you. I just find it annoying that the Chad Taylor has basically tattle-tailed on Ed on his blog to try and make him lose fan support.

Do we know the backstory of why Ed did what he did, or if he even did it at all? I am sure many bandmates over time screw each other over in some way or another, just most don't feel the need to post personal issues on some blog.

If Chad just said the band broke due to creative differences, things would have been fine. They could have taken Ed to court over the other thing, and if true it would have all come out over time. The way things were handled, just did not appeal to me.
