I believe someone was messing with my personal settings. I noticed that there were no signatures appearing on the boards. I checked it out and it was changed to not view them. I never made this change!

Global change?

Yes, it was a global change. I turned off the display of signatures for everybody a couple of months ago. This is the first complaint I've received.

I personally see little value in signatures and loathe having to scroll down heaps when somebody has stuck a large image or quoted a whole book chapter in their signature.

Anyway, if you really want to see people's signatures then it's a simple process of making them visible. Go into your Control Panel (My Controls --> Board Settings) and change "Do you wish to view members signatures when reading topics?" from "No" to "Yes".

I always disable avatars and signatures whenever possible on a forum. I loathe them, as well!

I'm a video game nerd and frequent the IGN.com forums, too. They don't give you the option to disable them, so I wrote a Greasemonkey script to get rid of the damn things!
