This song always gives me goosebumps. I was in awe when Ed busted it out at his solo show last week. I never thought I would be able to see this song in concert. The full band version even rocks more. They should have pulled this one out earlier! I think I even saw a smile on Ed's face after the song. Maybe there is hope yet that they can still have fun playing together in the future!

hey tnx for the upload. Never thought they would ever play that song again.

But at the otherhand this is so weird. During this year they seemed to bring back a lot of fan favorites and long not played songs like Hold me Up, Gas Hed Goes West, Top, MEIAVC, etc. Improving the setlist is a thing that fans asked and begged for for years!!
I don't really understand why that goes together what seems to be the end of the band, or at least the end for now. They seemed to put more thought and energy in the setlist, rehearsed more for us fans ( I mean, even adding Supernatural at one of these last concerts), but still deciding this is it.

Don't you think it's all contradictory? Or did they all know for a long time now a 'pauze' would come and they thought: let's record a dvd before it! Let's play a lot of cool, long time gone songs from early albums for the fans, before we quit. Who knows.

I doubt they really put the whole "break" in place until after they started writing for the new album, im guessing creative differences sparked up and rather than make each other unhappy they pulled the plug for now, who knows maybe it was Believe that was partially responsible, some members didnt/did like it etc.. I think they started experimenting with the setlist before the decision was made to have a break if the Believe/new album theory is true, just bad timing. Ed seems to continue bringing new songs into the setlist, I dare say it was his idea to bring back Supernatural as he started playing it at solo shows first, he also brought back face and ghost, sparkle, nobody knows etc.. so maybe after so long they did just eventually get sick of playing the same things over and over.

Holy guacamole! That rocked! I've never heard the full band version. Is there a better quality version out there?

I was lucky enough to see and meet Vic Chesnutt in 2006 at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. I couldn't help but laugh when he introduced Supernatural:

"This is a song I wrote. Some band called Live covered it. I wrote it. They suck."

There's an audio torrent of the whole show:

Was he serious?

What did you talk about when you met him?

I'm pretty sure he was just joking around. Everyone laughed when he said it. I got my copy of Drunk signed by him and I made a point to mention that I was a huge Live fan. He pretty much confirmed to me that he has enjoyed Live since Throwing Copper. He's a very down-to-Earth guy.

I had a feeling that Supernatural would be coming back. Vic is from Atlanta, GA [or very near there] and in recent EddieK bootlegs people have been screaming "supernatural" in the background. Before checking out his solo show in Atlanta I just sort of assumed Supernatural would be played.
