-- Lucky for those coming to Cleveland and Westbury you will get to see the grand finale. I would hold on to those ticket stubs.

-- I ready for my next chapter to begin. I've closed the door on Live for now but I'm careful to not use the word "never"-very easily...

-- ...2yrs could turn into 4 or 5 or 15 for that matter. You just can't predict these types of things. I'm enjoying the moment. That is...

-- ..enough for now. The new band and new music will be my future. I can't treat it any other way or I will fail to reach my goals waiting on.

-- ..the past to return. Like I said. I'm here now.

By a bunch of people do you mean Nick? I think it'll be longer than 2 years, for both Ed and the new band to record/release/tour for and possibly repeat that cycle it will probably push it up over 2 years, I'd say we wont see another Live reformation until they're all into their 40s, but Live will be back. I just cant see this group of guys who came from where they did not going back to it again. They're probably not even sure themselves where everything is going and how long it'll take and such because they've never really known the world outside of Live so it's all a bit new so hence the different messages ... either way, exciting times!

I wonder if the traffic to this site will drop because of all this?

I take it with a grain of salt. CT is notorious for talking out of his ass.

Exciting times? sleeping.gif

It's like a favorite sports team threatening to move to a different city. I just wanna root for them and see their best work; that's exciting to me. This is just depressing.

You don't think its exciting, now getting to follow 2 different bands instead of one that has pretty much done nothing for years and years? The prospect of them coming back together down the road and making better music again as a result of the break ... I dunno, that seems more exciting to me than anything they've done post about 2003

The new band will never be as good as Live. If the lead singer ends up being the guy from Candlebox, I can confidently say he isn't up to Eddie's standards. He doesn't have Ed's stage presence or powerful vocal range. I'm not saying that the new band won't be good, but they will not be up to the level of what was previously accomplished with Live.

Eddie's solo shows are awesome, but they don't have the same energy as the full band counterparts.

Live was the peak. What follows may be very good, but I don't feel it will measure up.

Oh absolutely, I dont doubt the lead singer of the new band wont be able to replace Ed (especially in his prime) and if it is the guy from candlebox then i'm already not a fan of his voice. But still, it'll be something new, im more interested in hearing the music that CT, CG and PD come up with now they're back in the drivers seat after so long, to me thats exciting.

I agree with that point, and I'm also excited to hear the new music from both parties. I am expecting good things from all involved. However, I do think Live needs to release another studio album before they are geriatrics!

I don't think Live will ever be to the level it once was... this break could be what they need to get some damned passion back in their music. bomb.gif

I was shocked when i read ct's twitter, it was really a goodbye. Even though their stuff has sucked recently, not knowing when and if we will ever see LIVE again is sad.

Its very exciting!

So, yeah, I had to post something for old times sake. Thanks to Live for all the memories over the past 16 years. Its sad that is over but its exciting to move on as well.

We lit a candle, we took a seat for the ride and it was a great one. rockin.gif

First of all I'm sincerely hoping for the best with more Live to come in the near future.

That being said, it appears to me that something has slowly evolved and there's a definate problem here and they won't come out and say it. They're just claiming it's a break like Ross and Rachel when it has to go deeper.

First they were supposed to work on a new album that was coming out this summer, then they started writing new stuff (as evident by them playing Believe), and now Ed has a seperate website and the entire band is planning a new road without him while Ed is touring and playing all the old Live shit. Reminds me of Foggerty a little bit.

Also, Chad just wrote that long blog about the needing a break and now he's posting this stuff. It seems like emotions are running and they're not sure what's going on.

I could see that Live was taking a two year break if it was everyone doing their own thing or two of them working together, but it's the whole damn band minus Ed setting up a new band. That's not a break from each other, that's more like "fuck Ed" to me.

Even if it is a two year break that means that with the creative and experimental process it would be at least 3-4 years for a new album from the band if they got back together exactly two years after the "break".

If they do take a longer break than two years I can't see them ever making a new complete album again. They would probably tour again on the old stuff, release a few new songs that tease, or maybe (if we're lucky) put out one more "we're throwing ourselves back together" album that probably won't have the chemistry and won't mesh.

By the way, where did all the Canldebox singer info come from?
