See for yourself. Granted, its just an article - but Ed twittered in response to it and said "Beautiful piece!" and seemed excited by it.

Is it strange that I don't want Ed to practice any specific religion? I liked it better when he asked questioned this stuff more (of course, that is a selfish thought). But come to think of it, "Take me on up to Zion" has Old Testament written all over it. At first I took it more as him just experimenting with the idea of "Zion" - a perfect place of comfort. But this article says that he has "devoted himself to God" and compared Live to Creed and Nickelback - God help us all..... (no pun intended)

I knew this topic would start soon. I myself grew up in a Christian home as my father is a Baptist Minister, but for myself I've been more of an introspective person who reads and studies all religions and has never practiced one particular religious practice in my adult life. If Ed has tapped into his "Christian Heritage" then more power to him. As far as this article, there are no direct quotes from Ed or any member of LIVE and I would call this a piece that is all interpretation off the author. I am sure that Ed appreciates this media outlet like any other and if LIVE can broaden there fan base and allow people to hear there music, that's great. Overall in my personal opinion I do believe that Ed is dabbling into his Christian roots and that is fine, but that doesn't mean that he is blowing off his previous thoughts from the philosophy of Buddhist writers like Ken Wilber.

FFfuuuuuccckkk omg.gif

And no, Ed was better when his lyrics can be both religious and nonreligious. Susquehanna is extremely anti religion but heaven can go both ways.

If you're reading this Ed... please turn back.

Not strange at all. I feel the same. I've always listened to Live's music and been open to the universal/transcending nature of what Ed is singing. I'd hate to think they're suddenly coming from a certain religious doctrine, like the sort of thing that Ed was ripping up in the STD video. I'd say I've always been comfortable with Ed exploring, not comitting, as far as religion is concerned. I'd say I'd be totally alienated if he started thanking Jesus Christ after every show or something.

And as for the article - yeah I'll pray for Live. Pray they don't make another SFBM! bwave.gif

Hello I'm Rodney Miller the Editor for StereoTruth.net. First, I want to thank you for having an open discussion about the story I wrote for our blog StereoTruth.net. While the majority of my article were facts from their bio right here on the FriednsOfLive site there is one line of the post that Ed wrote himself. His record promoter Donna (who I referenced in the post) provided me with Ed's testimony of his faith in Christ. Now I changed it to make more sense in the post, but it reads....

Ed Kowalczyk's has stated that his heart and soul has been redeemed, rebooted and restarted by the Lord Jesus Christ.

In his testimony of faith it reads...

"My heart and my soul have been saved; redeemed, rebooted and restarted by the Lord Jesus Christ. His Resurrection is my Salvation and my Strength forever!"

My partner Scott & I believe that as Disciples of Christ, we are called to live in the world that He gave us. Sometimes, that means embracing the mainstream, sometimes it means being ‘different’. While it is often easy to find the evil and sin in things, we choose to look at the struggles, the successes and even the failures of everyday life and see that it’s all according to His plan.

That is why we're blogging abut Ed, Katy Perry, Brian "Head' Welch, U2 or any other mainstream artist that has a relationship with Christ. Christian radio stations and way to often the Church itself is more interested at looking at their past than their present.

Let's keep talking....
Rodney

oh please no...Ex is that you? or Hoodstock?

While I understand that spiritual progression is bound to lead from exploring one religion to the other, this is just too much. Can we now expect more 'gentle jesus' references in Live's upcoming material? Excuse me if I'm being narrow-minded, but Ed's message has always been of a big-mind concioussness and I'm not sure I could ever relate to Live's forthcoming material in the same fashion if this is true.

I can't be the only one?

either way, thankyou Mr Miller for posting

I mean, WOW, we were all worried about crappy music but this is just......straight outta left field

Reality Check: This guy, Rodney, who wrote this is just some random blogger who decided to start, or participate in, some Christian-based website. It's like one of us writing blogs for some random website. Just take what you read with a grain of salt. Besides, this article is filled with grammatical errors, so this in no way is a profession piece of journalism.

2nd sentence of the article: Now, before you listen to their new song “Forever” you must first learn that their lead singer Ed Kowalczyk’s has stated that his heart and soul has been redeemed, rebooted and restarted by the Lord Jesus Christ. .... Ok? Ed Kowalczyk's what? Kidding aside, I see no quotes in that sentence. If the author actually called Ed up and asked him a few questions, and that was actually stated by Ed, I still would not take it seriously. And I don't see a link to any type of interview. If some guy from a Christian website called me up and said 'dude how's your spiritual life, how's your relationship with God?', I'd say pretty much the same thing and hang up. It's no big deal.

Most likely this guys just pushing his own agenda. Christians have a way of taking every live song and some how interpereting them as pro christian so maybe there is nothing to worry about.

even if ed became a priest i guess it wouldnt matter so long as he comes out with some rockin stuff. halle-fucking-luja

A few questions:
So, Donna Del Sesto approached you and provided you with that quote from Ed?
How long has she been his record promoter?
Does Donna represent just Ed or the whole band?
Is Donna from Vanguard Records?
