101.9 RXP in NYC is really treating the band well. Not only have they promoted 3 sell out shows for Ed, but they are also playing Forever on a daily basis. Now they are helping with Paradiso sales. It looks like Vanguard struck a pretty cool deal with the station:

WRXP and LIVE want to do something special for The Experience listeners. The band's new live album Live at the Paradiso - Amsterdam is out now. If you order the cd HERE and enter WRXP as your Discount Code you will get an autographed booklet signed by the entire band and a discount in the price of the cd. Another way for us to say thanks for tuning in to 101.9 RXP FM! (please note: you'll get 2 packages--one with the actual cd and a separate package with the autographed booklet)

That's pretty awesome. It has been that very lack of promotion that has gooten them no airplay the last ten years. Ed needs to get his ass in gear and start hitting cities with major stations 20 times or so per month for 5 or 6 months.

But it's nice to see somebody paying them some attention at least. BTW, any word on any Canada shows?

Just the festival in Fredericton. But I'm betting that there has to be at least 2 other Canadian shows that weekend. If I hear anything, I will post it.

NYC is finally stepping up to the plate for Live! It's good to finally see that. It's the #1 radio market and it has the worst programming.

It's weird to see 101.9 associated with that though ... that was a jazz station for 87,000 years lol

It's amazing people get so excited over this one promotion. $6-10k would have bought Vanguard a decent viral/field agency to handle hundreds of promos and giveaways just like this. The lack of promotion on this album, both online and off-line is staggering.

and we've had little or no promotion down here and I think LIVE is with a major label internationally still - I had to order Paradiso online and even though its been out for a while its still a rare find in stores like KMART, SANITY or BIGW and TARGET...

but Ed's doing a great job getting himself out there again.

no, your right I was being a little bit sweeping in my assesment there.

For those interested in a wide selection (mainstream and not) of music JB HI-FI and HMV are both very good and do have most things in my experience.

I just assumed that most people who buy mainstream music would look for it in mainstream outlets - it was not that long ago that you'd expect LIVE to be there (on shelves in most music stores) in Australia anyway...well maybe a decade ago.
