Ed is also playing the Tin Angel in Philly on Monday April 20th. I just bought tickets (they have your name at the door actually; no physical tickets for shows here). I live in Philly, and go to this small club frequently........going tomorrow actually to see Jesse Malin. Anyway, some tips on this place:

* If you have dinner at their restaurant (Serrano), they reserve you a good table upstairs for the show (restaurant downstairs; music upstairs). It's well worth going that route. The food is pretty good and not very expensive. They hook up the people that call early in the game with the best seats/tables right by the stage, and work backwards from there pending on when you call. The room is a narrow rectangular set-up, so personally I think you have to be in the front 1/3 - 1/2 of the room to properly enjoy a show there. I've been in the back by the bar, and just don't like it all. So don't procrastinate...call them and they'll hook you with tix and a dinner reservation. They have someone answering phones virtually every day after Noon.

If you don't go the dinner route, GA seating is first come, first served. So get there a tad early and get in line so you get a good spot. The first 15-20 GA spots along the wall (stools) are pretty good and close to the stage. After that, the GA seats kind of suck if you ask me, because most are in the back half of the room.

You can buy tix online, but if you're doing dinner, I think it's easy to just call them directly to set it up. 215-928-0978 Enjoy, and hopefully this info helps some of y'all out.

Dammit why does the Philly show have to be on a Monday. I was hoping to see a solo Chameleon show on this little tour....but I guess no luck huh?

april would be the only month in which the band hadn't planed any tour dates.
So what about recording the new album in april?? well seems impossible now, if Ed is on tour... eh.gif

I doubt we'll be seeing a new album until 2010 at the earliest.

I thought word was this year. That sucks!

It would be sweet if they did Hawaii at the same time this year. I go every other year and the year they go (at the same time I always go) was an off year.

I have no inside info, but it looks as if they will focus to tour behind the DVD this year.

I'm still hoping for a new album this summer!

The result creates high anticipation for Live's next release, which Kowalczyk says they hope to have out in the summer of 2009. In addition to a new release, Live has a spring tour planned in Australia and a summer tour in the US expected to be announced next year.

Spring is here and no Australian tour. Plans change all the time.

yeah, I was really confident 2009 was THE year they would finally record a new album. But after reading the other thread I just posted in, I agree with Nick that I don't see a new album coming before early 2010. Releasing that they started recording SFBM in the first half of 2005, this would made it the biggest gap between two albums (yes, I know there was a dvd recording in between, but still...)

This is going to be Live's first album as an independent, and I don't want them to rush it. They need to plan a release date in advance and figure how they want to promote the single/album. They should also take a few months off to recharge before a tour begins for the album

I already think the band is promoting themselves a bit better. In Atlantic City, the Live poster for the show clearly had www.friendsoflive.com on it. so they are trying to get people to the website and building their presence on the web through Facebook/Myspace etc.

Spring/Summer 2010 would be a good time for an album release.
