Anyone here a bit of a computer/console game nerd? I fell out of playing games a few years ago, I guessed I was just kinda "over it" so speak. Of course when GTA 4 was released this year it was something I had to play but just recently I've found myself getting right back into them when I have a spare hour or so with nothing to do and its been awesome. A few I've been playing just recently are:

Fallout 3
Fable 3
Dead Space
Red Alert 3
Quantum of Solace

Anyone have any all time favorite games? Playing anything cool at the moment?

Oh yes. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I love my Wii! I stood out in line two years ago to buy it on launch date. My friends and I play a lot of Wii Sports and Mario Kart Wii.

There's not much right now that I'm looking to buy besides SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. I still need to download Mega Man 9 on the Virtual Console. I may buy Quantum of Solace for the Wii. Definitely looking forward to The Conduit and Mad World next year.

I am finally working on Final Fantasy XII after I got it two years ago when it came out. Just never had time. I also play Final Fantasy XI Online.

My buddy usually leaves his 360 here, so I can play that whenever...and I plan on buying my own when I have the money to. A PSP and PS3 are also on the list.

I have the original style DS and was going to upgrade to a DS Lite, but with the DSi announced, I guess I'm waiting for it. It's stupid that it's out in Japan now, but they're not releasing it in the States till 2009 "because the DS Lite is still selling well." Yeah, who's gonna buy a DS Lite now when they know the DSi is coming?

Fable 3

wtf, you mean Fable 2?

I don't play games outside of smash bros, rock band, or fighting games... I used to be huge into rpgs. I just got one for my birthday that I am playing though trying to get back into it. Star Ocean for the Psp. I have to say it is a throwback to my childhood and truly a wonder to play.

I'm a big Playstation fan, but because of the cost for the PS3 and my young children I bought a Wii.

I love first person shooters. I used to play the Call of Duty series and Socom on my PS2. My favorite game was Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. I played that to death and was ranked in the top 100 at one time.

I've been disappointed with the Wii titles overall, but I've found a few that I've enjoyed.

Lately on my Wii I've played:

No More Heros
Mario Kart Wii
Star Wars: The Force Unleased

I just found out that Call of Duty: World At War for the Wii will offer multi-player online play, unlike the last Call of Duty for the Wii. It comes out next week and I'm pretty excited about first person shooter online play. I will definately buy it. I'd also like to buy Zelda for the Wii at some point.

No More Heroes was a damn good game. Definitely room for improvement, but I really enjoyed it. I'm partway through my replay on the Bitter difficulty. I'm really excited that they announced a sequel (NMH: Desperate Struggle). If they can fix the minor issues the first one had, it'll be gold.

Since I'm a Wii nerd, I'll make some recommendations. Don't know if you already have any of these, though.

Definitely pick up Zelda. Though the formula is getting stale, it's still a solid game. There were a few dungeons where I got stuck for a little bit. Makes you think.

I'm also going to recommend Super Mario Galaxy and Zack & Wiki. You really can't go wrong with Mario and Galaxy is just a blast. I was so into it that I completed it 100% after just a couple weeks--121 stars each with Mario and Luigi. I did nothing but work and play that game.

Zack & Wiki didn't really seem like something that would have interested me, but I bought into IGN's hype and I'm glad I did. It's a point-and-click puzzle-solving game. It gets pretty tough and REALLY makes you use your head. It's pretty cool if you're playing with more than one person. It's a one-player game, but having more than one person there trying to solve the puzzles really makes it more fun.

The other two games I have for Wii that I haven't mentioned in either of my posts here are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Paper Mario. Both good games, but after I finished them, I never really touched them again. I was actually never into the Smash Bros. series, but I again bought into the hype. It was fun, but didn't hold my interest after I'd unlocked most of the stuff. Super Paper Mario, I'd say it's worth a play-through if you're into platformers (it also has RPG elements), but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

And if you download WiiWare and like multiplayer games, check out Dr. Mario Online Rx and Bomberman Blast, especially the latter. I've always been a fan of Bomberman.

These are all games that kids can enjoy, too. Zack & Wiki gets extremely difficult, though, and Super Paper Mario is really text-heavy.

I played 1 back in the day... it was fun but too short and overhyped. Is it better this time around?

Sax - if you pick up Call of Duty: World At War (which comes out next week) or Mario Kart let me know and we can play online together.

Here's some info:

No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle

This interview says the game might use Wii Motion Plus. I'm not really big on buying more stuff for my Wii to play games but it might be cool.

I haven't bought any of the classic titles through Wii Ware. I actually still have the original Nintendo with about 60 games.

Just to clarify, I a huge console player and I love first person shooter - online multiplayer games. If I could have bought a PS3 I would have.

These are the games that I definately would be playing:

Battlefield: Bad Company
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Socom: Confrontation

I'm a huge Battlefield fan and it killed me that I couldn't get the game.

That's why I'm excited about Call of Duty: World at War for the Wii. I wasn't planning on buying it because I heard that the online feature was only two player co-op for the Wii. I just found out that's not the case. Here's the info:

Multiplayer -- Call of Duty: World at War will support intense, online multiplayer action using the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine. Bringing multiplayer to the Wii for the first time in the Call of Duty franchise, players will be able battle it out in a variety of game types, plus upgrade and customize characters by using perks and completing challenges.

It's really the first game on the system that fits my genre. I know it won't be as great as the PS3 version but it comes out next week with the Live album and I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint.

If any Wii owners plan on getting this send me a PM and we can link up online!

I'm a bit pissed off at the moment .. the 2 games (besides GTA 4) that I've been waiting all year for Fallout 3 and Red Alert 3 have been so buggy .. both crash heaps and freeze ... at first I thought it was my computer but then realised that people with computers heaps better than mine have the same problems and for some reason people with much worse are running things fine..
It's incredibly annoying when you fork out money for a game and can barely play it ... the patches released so far have done nothing, actually officially neither EA or Bethesda have released patches to fix the problems yet, they've all been non-official patches ... grrr!

All time favorite games though?

Ultima 8 and 9 (PC)

Goldeneye (N64)

Command & Conquer 1, 2, 3 (PC)

Red Alert 1, 2 (PC)

Supreme Commander (PC)

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 (I think, whichever one had the GM mode) (PS2)

GTA 1, 2, 3, Vice City, San Andreas, 4 (PSX, PS2, XBOX)

Mario Kart 1, 64 (SNES, N64)

Zelda link to the past, ocarina of time (SNES, N64)

Fallout 1, 2, 3 (PC)

Donkey Kong (SNES, 64)

WCW vs NWO World Tour, Revenge (N64)

Sim City all versions (PC)
