It's been a fabulous week for Live on 5fm! On Grant and Anele's show they have a segment called old school/new school where people get to vote for a song by the original artist or the cover of the song by another artist. Without fail the old school song usually wins. Today they played I walk the line by Johny Cash and then Live's version and the boys won by far! Everyone wh phoned in gushed about how rockin' Live's version is. banana.gif rockin.gif kicking.gif

It's a really good version but I think Ed would be the first to tell you that Cash did it best.

And I would disagree with Ed. I never was a fan of Cash's I Walk the Line. However, Johnny Cash's Nirvana cover was far superior to the original,in my opinion.

I don't remember that... Cash's NIN cover of Hurt was fantastic and far better IMO.

Cover better than the original? Wahahah.

The original is ALWAYS better than a cover. Live succeeded in making a completely different song with a tremendously differing vibe.TThat is why it is so impressive.
