old post first

this is a distinct possibility (was before live/soul/blues was announced)....i attended the starland show...and bought the autographed drum head that comes with 2 backstage passes....and was told by chad gracey (the only member who came out to the meet and greet)...that they were working out the details of touring with collective soul and blues traveller

now on to the meet and greet...when bought... we were told ed had a flight to catch early in the morning and he would not be attending the meet/greet....but were told the other members would..unfortunately this did not happen....the merchandise guy apologized and has promised free tix and passes next time they are in area (he left a way to contact...which i have not done)...but i am not counting on this happening... if it does great...if not i got slightly burned

chad was very friendly...and easy to talk 2

i actually asked him about the capacity of starland and was told 2200 by him...(i was asking as there is a club closer to me id hoped they would play...but alas its capacity is around 1000...so its a no go there)

the club was crowded...but 2200 seems about right for the attendance

anyone who cares...the autographed drumhead seems to be a new thing...they sell 3 used drumheads from the previous show autographed by the band...and they come with 2 backstage passes to that night show...they sell quickly...i wont provide a price as i have a feeling it varies by arena (mine was fair)...they are provided by chad (he confirmed)...its a way they got a few real fans, not radio winners/corporate people backstage

update

the merchandise guy fully came through...he set me up with tix and backstage passes to the toms river fest...we were able to meet the whole band...and had a very nice time chatting and getting autographs...live takes care of their fans!....thanks again
now the drumhead was not available at toms river...it might be over as a promotion
great show...nice moments with daughtry during each of their sets
they are actually playing the club by me i mentioned to chad...forgot to ask him if it had anything to do with our starland convo...but probably a coincidence
i made a request that they play unsheathed at the chance...ed said they would have to rehearse to play it and that they dont rehearse much while on tour...said maybe though
thats all i remember currently...very happy they took care of me and was able to meet the band!

Thanks alot dude! Unshealthed is something they NEED to play to get into some heavier stuff. That would have been my second choice if I could see anything live, the first being Stage. An extended stage that lasted about 10 mins would blow my mind but that ain't happenin...

Glad to hear that Tim (I assume it was Tim) hooked you up and you were able to meet the band. He is a great guy.

The signed dumheads/setlists tend to come and go during the tour depending on the availability of drumheads and tracking down the guys in the band to sign them.

Ed and Pat both told me the same thing about another song. They don't really rehearse right now. There was also a girl backstage who had a heropsychodreamer sign at the concert asking them to play it. Ed said he saw it but they still didn't do it. I'm convinced they have a very limited concert library right now.

The playlist is much more varied now than it ever was before. I remember the TDTH/V/BOP tours where they NEVER switched a song from the set. At least now you can expect a few different songs each show.

Not saying it's not varied, just saying that there is a pool of specific songs they choose from. It would be sweet if they were able to pull out any given song on any given night but they're not that type of band.
