I' ve just read the comments. I'm sorry, but this one made me guffaw for a good couple of minutes.

Please enjoy Ed Kowalczyk describing an angel "lying there all naked on the floor"

...next to the placenta?

lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Once again, I apologise.

lol I love how Ed is pretty much trying to make The River sound like it's meaningful, it's really grasping at straws.

Grasping at straws is an argumentative fallacy.

Ed may or may not be reaching hard with The River, but it's not correct to say grasping at straws.

Well whatever Mr. English, when asked about what it was about I think he tried way too hard to make it sound a lot deeper and meaningful than it actually is.

I'd have more respect for Ed if he just said "Here's The River, it's a song about fucking".

He has said that numerous times during his promo tour in 2006. He basically called it a song about having sex.

Exactly, so why now all the spiritual spiel and 'completing'.

Did you follow the original link and see the YouTube Video?

And I quote from Ed's Mouth:

"The woman presence in the chorus is, you know, let my loving ease your pain, in other words lets come together and sort of complete each other"

Here's a link to the video just in case:

Isn't that the same thing as sex? Just a nicer way of putting it?

If completing each other comes down to just a polite way to mention having sex, it's a sad world.

Ed' little speech and declaring the song as one of the most beautiful songs ever done made me feel like slapping him right in the ego. It's far from the most beautiful songs he's done, never mind other artists. I wish I hadn't seen that little vignette of twattery to be honest.

When you match it up against songs he's done like Dance with you, turn my head, ghost, and even face and ghost .. The River doesn't come anywhere close to them in what I'd call a beautiful song, sure it might be a little catchier or have a more defining hook, but that doesn't equate anything.
