I would like to request "Dan's Secret Album" that was apparently offered to some people when he sold the site. From what I understand it contained:

• Overcome (full band studio version)
• Still Aroused (studio version)
• Walk Into This Room (Ed solo)
• Where Fishes Go (with guitar intro and alternate ending)
• Deeper (alternate version with sitar)
• Feel The Quiet River Rage (with alternate ending featuring a sitar)
• Sun (with a few alternate lyrics and choir in the middle)
• Dance With You (with a few alternate lyrics)
• Sparkle (with a few alternate lyrics)
• Meltdown (with a few alternate lyrics)
• Voodoo Lady (unmixed demo version)
• They Stood Up For Love (unmixed demo version) [big bang version]
• Don't Wait (unmixed demo version)

If anyone actually has it, the songs would be appreciated!

lol! No one is going to give that away! You might be able to pull trades for individual tracks in backdoor pms but no one is going to give you all of them for free when they paid good money. The reason why is because there are people like me who might actually pay money for these tracks.

Well at least you just proved that you aren't me, Badman. The reason they aren't getting shared goes far beyond the money.

I would also be interested in this album. I haven't heard all of these versions.

Which, for instance?

I obviously don't understand the "politics" of this...

Why isn't it being shared?

What did it cost to buy?

Was the quality worth the price?

???

I'd say the two main reasons it isn't being shared are that the tracks are being used by some, including me, as trade bait for more rare tracks, and that there is a fear of pissing the band off and possibly facing legal trouble. The band was really pissed that Dan sold their music. He sold it for $125 per cd and I'd say it was well worth it.

Oh, I see...

Did the band GIVE him those tracks?

Or how did he get them in the first place?

If the guys are pissed, I suppose it's no longer for sale, either?

Sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but you all talking about it arouses my natural curiosity...

I don't know how he got them but I have two theories that are plausible. I doubt it's still for sale, but if it is, good luck reaching Dan. He's disappeared off the face of the Earth.

Speaking of that, has ANYONE ever met Dan?

First of all, if Dan charged $125 for 13 alternative versions of released tracks and found actual takers he is a genious!

When Dan was around he used to temporarily post alternative versions of songs for people to download and then pulled them after a few days. I downloaded some of those but do not have the songs on the "Secret Album" list. I would appreciate if someone would share them but I can honestly say they're not worth $125 to me. I would enjoy hearing them, but if that's the price, I can live without.

To show how things used to work on this board here are links to some of the old postings from Dan where he freely offered alternative songs for anyone on the site to download:

Vine Street (Demo)

Face and Ghost (Demo)

The Distance (Demo)

Mystery (No Strings)

Ed appeared on Seattle's KLSY (Mix 92.5)

American Idol: Ed w/ Daughtry

June 9th, Copenhagen (I think you can still get this one)

Southside Festival in Tuttlingen, Germany

It was nice when Dan shared his Live collection with the rest of us. He truely had a great library of tracks. I assumed that part of Nick purchasing the website meant that he also gained access to Dan's collection but I guess that was an incorrect assumption. I was hoping that posts like Dan's old ones would continue on the site.

It included some very rare alternate versions and/or demos of TDTH songs, plus full band Overcome and Still Aroused studio. $125 was a steal, amateur. Plus, I paid only $25. banana.gif banana.gif

Well $25 is a completely different story.
