I thought I would shared these old setlists and posters that I came across recently.

I have 2 other gems that I will post here shortly.

Enjoy,
Brian

A flyer from a show at the Chameleon Club on 08/27/1991. The show was the one at which the live segments of the videos for Operation Spirit and Pain Lies... were shot. The flyer is an 8x10 sheet. It is in very good condition (slight bend on bottom right corner), but it is quite a low budget production. You can tell the band was just starting out at this point.

The 1991-08-27 set list is on a plain white sheet of paper (8X10). On the back of the paper is a blank setlist for a "The Meat Puppets" tour of 1991. There are 11 songs + "Waterboy/Encore" on the list. Of interest, is the presence of Pain Lies on the list twice (with the words Ed Acous.) beside it (songs 1 and 3). This is the setlist from the show where the concert footage for the Operation Spirit and Pain Lies... videos were shot. Some one folded it into 8ths at one point, but it is flat now.

This is the back of the setlist, it appears to be a blank guest list sheet from a previous Meat Puppets show at the Chameleon.

The set list is on legal sized lined yellow paper. It lists 13 songs. I am not sure of the date. Of interest are the LIVE songs, beside a Public Affection song (Who Put The Fear In Here) and some other unreleased songs (Sunny Day, Born Branded). The condition of the set list in general is fine. Here is a tear from song 1 through song 3. The tear has been repaired with tape (not by me, but by whoever posted the list on the stage). There is duct tape in the top left and bottom right corners. This tape attached the list to the stage.

There also appears to be a title track for 'Mental Jewelry' which along with 'Sunny Day', I'd never heard of before...have i understood that right? And 'Jewelry' is also spelt incorrectly and differently from how it appears on the CD... banana.gif

Sunny Day... can be a cover maybe?

and now it's for sure Born Branded is a MJ outtake and not an early TC outtake (I didn't know that)

I'm guessing "Mental Jewelery" on the yellow setlist is actually Mirror Song (which appears on the other setlist). As an early band they may have not been set on the name.

My guess would be that they were undecided about a name and later they probably liked Mental Jewelry for the CD and went with Mirror Song as the name of the song so it wouldn't be a title track.

Sunny Day I'm not sure about.

The mis-spelling only shows that they're not anal about spelling like some people around here.
