I got this from the Hard Rock Vegas website:

Live holds the title for being one of the most successful and enduring alternative rock bands of the 90s and despite their long list of achievements, they find themselves busier than ever with songwriting, recording and huge summer and fall tours. Live’s current tour celebrates their career-spanning history by featuring some of the greatest moments from their releases along with some special surprises.

I think it sounds like a mini promo tour - I believe we are about to hear something more than just tour dates in the next couple of weeks. And no, I have not heard anything concrete from my sources. Just a funny feelin.

I was thinking the same thing. If a new album drops in July, I will be eating some serious crow. Hope you're right Gunner.

I really, really hope that they're recording, if not already started. It's plausible, is it not? After all at FOL they have a 'secret' apparently. To me this sounds like something other than more tour dates, as they did announce in that 'secret' post that tour dates were coming up. I'd imagine that they've been writing on the road, or a little after touring; then again Ed is basically writing all of the time.

Lets hope for some further collaboration from the rest of the band this time around lol.gif It's Live, not Eddie Kowalczyk and the Merry Band of 3. Remember Birds of Pray? the two best songs, in my opinion, from that album, 'Lighthouse' and 'Like I Do' were both written by more than just Ed. Chad and Pat in particular giving their effort to it.

All in all, i'm hoping for something new again from Live. They've never failed to disappoint with that. My only request? Turn up the amplifiers a bit, and get rid of that falsetto! If not at least tune it down...

I'd love to have heard the guys perform Waitress and Mother Earth is a Vicious Crowd recently, maybe also Dam At Otter Creek; Ed's voice sounded much 'rougher' so to speak on some of these recordings, but every now and then that high-pitched falsetto creeps its way back in. If they're recording new material similar in sound to the cover of God Don't Never Change, i'm going to be extreeeeeemely happy nod.gif Chad T's guitar was powerful and rockin', Pat's bass was just... Pat's bass; present and awesome! (anyone notice that it was basically non-existant on SFBM?) Ed's voice with some edge of passion, and Chad G's drums as sharp as ever.

but than again.... they weren't recording ANYTHING around the release of Awake...that happened like 5 months after that or so. But at the otherhand, they're talkin here about a fall tour...i can't imagine they planned one for this year already.

btw, Nick en Gunner, what do you mean by a possible mini-promo-tour? promoting a July-album in March would be odd, isn't? smile.gif

Maybe that's a write up from early 2006, because they brought an album out then, and toured throguh summer and fall - didn't they?

My gut says that the write for the Vegas show is a recent one.

We don't know there is an album, especially one that drops in July. We'll have to see what's behind the tour. However, I do think its awesome that the band are making up dates that they had to cancel in October (Anaheim, Vegas, Alpine).
