Crap bomb.gif I can't believe it! I went to the site over and over voting only for "I Alone" day after day, was I the only one voting? I think you are absolutely right about VH1 choosing the wrong song. I thought it was weird from the start, but I just wanted to get +LIVE+ a little bit of the recognition I think they deserve. No one out there, (besides us of course), seems to remember they were Rolling Stone magazine's band of the decade. How could they possibly be so low on the list? grrrr

Am I the only person who thinks Smells Like Teen Spirit is one of the most overrated songs ever (along with stuff like Free Bird)? And Live was the band of the decade?!!!!

I was all about 90's music as it happened and this list has some valid points, but overall is crap!

I saw this on fansoflive.com and couldn't believe it. First of all, Lightning Crashes should be on this list. In the 90's it was a huge song. It was nominated for Video of the Year (losing to Waterfalls, which is at the top of the list) and on the radio nonstop.

Second of all, why are bands limited to only one song, that doesn't make sense because it eliminates tons of great songs from the list, therefore, rendering it irrelevant and pointless because some bands should have multiple songs on here.

Third, Nirvana is so overrated in the 90's it's not even funny. Smells Like Teen Spirit was huge and should be on the list, I give them that. The fact is, however, that they really became huge and influential after Kirt killed himself. For the grunge crowd that was the huge draw. If it hadn't have happened they would not have been perceived the way they were.

Finally, regardless of what people think today if this is a true reflection of the 90's as it happend "U Can't Touch This" should be towards the top of the list and it isn't even on it.

The whole thing is retarded ass bullshit!

Why the hell are people still surprised when Live doesn't poll that well in polls created 10+yrs after they peaked commerically?

Live only really had one REALLY strong year in the 90s which leaves 9 other years for so many other arists and songs to over take them in these polls, not that I'm saying I agree with Live's placing, sure there are a ton of songs above them that I'd rather much worse then I Alone ... but do we need to post a thread every time a poll comes out where Live doesn't place as highly as we like? Also a lot of those songs above I Alone would have slaughtered it in a popularity contenst .... again not saying they're better songs, but still .. stop being so surprised/disgusted ... the poll means nothing anyways tongue.gif

Our problem with the poll is the song that was nominated for Live. If VH1 had picked Lightning Crashes the band would have finished higher, because it was by far the biggest hit of the 90's.

"Wonderwall" was. In terms of Rock'n'roll.
