many of you know me... many of you don't..... i was a HUGE Live fan, but not anymore, and it has nothing to do with the fact that they haven't put anything out worth listening to in a while....

....but, anyway...

when i first heard Live (selling the drama), i thought to myself.."that sounds really cool, fresh, and not much like anything else i've heard"... and, then a month or so later i heard I, alone.... again.. i was like "dang, this band is pretty awesome..... musically".... so, i went and bought the tape of TC. i wore out tracks 2 and 3 before ever really listening to the whole thing... and after i did, i thought... "could any album be any better than this"... well, for about 14 years i came to the conclusion.... "no".

until now....

a few months ago i was listening on the radio and i heard a song, and i got that same "feeling" as i did when i heard selling the drama.... so, i went and bought the cd w/o hearing any other song.... i haven't stopped listening to the cd yet. it is amazing. for all of you people that want that fresh alternative, rock, blues, soulfull sound... go out and buy "I Trust You To Kill Me by Rocco Deluca and the Burden".... and thank me later. this whole cd ranks up there w/ TC, SS, MJ... as far as i'm concerned. it doesn't sound the same, but it will remind you of the old LIVE due to the rawness, and soul that has been put into it.

if you have heard of this band... then maybe you can back me up on this, but if you haven't, and most haven't due to the fact that they are not on a big label, go out and spend the best $10-$15 that you'll spend in a long time.

I may be wrong, but I think it was twice that you said you were going away forever. Someone else can do the counting.

Next time you say you are going away, please go away.

Well, I like it when people post new bands like this b/c I can't get enough music. Here is the site if anyone is interested.

http://www.roccodeluca.com/home.htm

Bus ride, Swing low, and soul are the only good songs on that album as far as I can tell from the preview. I dunno if it would be worth a full buy. I personally like meaningful lyrics and this guy can't provide it. I don't care how good the singer is as long as the lyrics are awesome. Pink floyd, live, bright eyes... can anyone point me to a band that can write a song? I'd really appreciate it! smile.gif

badman,

thanks for responding to my post instead of bashing me. but, anyway... those songs are good, but this is one of those cd's that takes a few listen's to really "get" it...(much like many of Lives cd's)..... to be honest i didn't really care for that many songs the first listen through, but now... i can only think of one song that doesn't really do it for me, and that's the last one.. "favor".

also, his lyrics are pretty meaningful, maybe not as consistent as ed's lyrics: all about love, and water, but meaningful none the less. take it from me: a person that knows good music when i hear it, and i was a huge live fan forever mainly because of the passion put into the music... Rocco has that passion, and you'd be doing yourself a favor by at least checking him out,... and like i said before,.... you might hear a song or two you like the first time you hear it, but you won't "get it" until you play the cd all the way through a few times.

old live = good music, raw, passion, angst, soul

rocco deluca = good music, raw, passion, angst, soul

trust me.

my fav's: gift, colorful, bus ride, swing low, how fast, mystified, soul
