why LiVE is that one band for you.....in other words, why are they so special? and just in case, this is other's opinon...

People often ask me why I have LiVE, my fave band of allll time, as my first tattoo. Even my tat dude called me a dork for having it inked on me, but it is so much more than just great music that makes the band so special.

It is the amazing group of people who I met through the band and they know just how special they are to me, even if i fall off the face of the earth when life gets hectic, crazy and sometimes, like today, just downright S H I T T Y!!!!!!!

case in point....

I was driving home from the office tonight after one hellacious day and Lightning Crashes came on the radio. Memories of my first show and Chook-a-pal-ooza flooded me but also some major heart ache. Just when i needed it, I got a pic from the LiVE show tonite from none other than, miss jenny foo, the drum whore. The pic of ed singing made me and I knew again just what LiVE meant to me.....special friends who are there for each other, no matter what.

Exactly for the same reason.... they seem to be always there when I need em to...whether it is cause I am happy, or just plainly fly up the walls or sumthin.

and its just how they can cheer me up and inspire me at the times where i need it most. and if i dont need it they still brighten the day up.

Let's see. I agree with everything you've said. I'm very grateful for the memories and friends that I have made because of Live and I will always have a special place in my heart for their music. Well their old music anyway.

oh hell, you didnt mess up my thread....when i think back over the past few years, my happiest memories have been LiVE related!!!!!!!!!!! i often wonder if the band has any freaking clue just how much joy and happiness they have brought so many and how they have brought so many people together!?!?!?!?

oh and i will most def try miller chill.........i m an old school MGB fan!!!! but PBR kicks ass on a hot summer nite watching baseball!!!!

Aww.

Yeah, I get pissed at them ahem alot lately, but all it takes is to pull out an old school Live CD to remember how much they used to mean to me. No one else has and will ever affect me the way that still does.

They still make me smile, and then can turn around in the same show and break out a La Da da da and make me wanna slap them.

And I thank them from the bottom of my heart for my dear friends I found because of them

Always behind Morrissey, Live were my number 2 for years and years .. I dunno, their music just touched me.

But lately I've grown apart from them, several reasons, the new material being crap is a big one, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the older stuff. Now they're sitting behind bands like Morrissey, Ween, Nick Cave, Modest Mouse, Rammstein, Powderfinger, various Patton projects .. these artists touch me more than live (now that sounds bad!). So Live more to me now is a band I put on to just enjoy the music. If anything it's really only V that I have a real emotional attatchment to. I still do enjoy their live shows, lots of high energy, but I guess there are even things about that which annoy me more now.

I can't see Live ever leaving the "name your top 10 bands" list for me though

if it wouldnt be for Ed and +LIVE+...I probably wouldnt have picked up a guitar after 20 years and started playing again...the inspiration in most of the songs they write, make them a part of your life...your inner being..there is not another band that makes me so inspired to play and make music ...not one!

i got my first live cd by mistake........................it was a christmas present to my sister

and it's been on ever since...................

when i'm alone..........they're there
when i'm hurt they heal
when i'm happy................they let me dance around my den and don't laugh

and when i need something or someone to surround me they're there..............
