I have mixed feelings about this band.

They are either loved or hated, there seems to be no middle. But for me, I'm straddling that line.

If you go way back and listen to their early shit, they are actually pretty raw and rockin'. Coincidentally, so was Live. Lately, their music has become fairly boring and uncreative...Pop rock if you will.......Coincidentally, so has Live's music. I think they've followed fairly similar paths.

I think both bands are average musically, on par with one another. BUT, what sets these bands far apart to me is that Live's earlier work borders lyrical genius. Their music was relevant to society, and spoke volumes on many issues that artists that young don't dare approach nowadays. It touched a lot of people deep down on a shitload of different levels.

Overall, although I don't like their recent music and writing, LIVE is the superior band in my opinion

i like nickelbacks old stuff. such as that song called Someday or w/e it is. but i dont like their recent stuff. i think theyre being fake and they try and make themselves seem so high and mighty by writing about peace and love and such.

live is by faaarrrr better than them.

I don't own a Nickleback CD, but every time I hear them on the radio I listen. I don't see why people ride them so hard. Probably cause their on the radio non stop. They make hits!!! Their songs sound alright.

I love Live rockin.gif and I wish they got Nickleback's airplay right now!

I think I've been totally emphatic where I stand on Nickelback in many previous posts.

I despise them.

Clear enough?

Haha, I hate 'em. I think the thing that bugs me the most about them is that I just think they are SO overrated. When all I hear is like the same song, over and over again. (And again) Maybe I wouldn't hate them so much if I didn't hear them everywhere. But I doubt it, I was just trying to add something positive. lol.gif

TY miss jenny foo for the positivity!

i must say i do hear them everywhere but i do like 'em. to me they are the kind of band/music that goes well with beer drinking and just hanging out. they are nothing to get all super hyped over for their thought provoking lyrics, superurb musical skills and the like. and their live show was entertaining.

I will say that I don't mind their older stuff and used to listen to it, myself. But as it's been mentioned, how many times can you release the same song? I pretty much hate them now.

Oh well, fuck you all! aggressive.gif

I'm going to see them next month with Chris Daughtry and Puddle of Mudd. Don't know what posessed me, especially since I left the last show after LIVE opened for Nickelback.

Like I said anyhow, I don't mind em too much. Sure a lot of their stuff sounds the same. But they're not nearly as bad as a lot of people make them out to be.

What was the single off the album before the album with 'Someday' on it? Cause that one's not that bad. You never hear that one. It must not be as radio-whorish. lol.gif

And actually, Liverocks, I do agree with you on Live's latest stuff and their stuff being on the same level. Not to beat a dead horse, but Live's latest album is definitely lacking in the substance of their other work! You know.. fluffy. Meaningless? But I DO have to hand it to Nickleback, as much as I hate them. They know what they are doing to sell records. At least the fluff has a definite hook for people.

But I'd enjoy Daughtry the most!! Puddle of Mudd...they're ok. Way better than Staind, though. Thats who's along for the show around here. (again, sorry if y'all like Staind...)

And I'll bet you will have a good time! I do wonder what kind of show they put on, maybe they're a really great live band (while playing songs I don't like, ha) What do I know! You'll have to report back to us

LMAO....... yeah, if you're gonna make fluff, make it good fucking fluff! I hear their show is worth seeing so what the fuck, I'll be half loaded anyhow.

As for you VAL. talktohand.gif The main reason I'm going is to check out Daughtry. Hoping he'll play some of his old shit because the music is pretty damn good in my opinion. Regardless of his sellout first album, I like him and probably always will.

As for Puddle of Mudd? I'm surprised they've started touring again. I saw them once in person and it was fucking horrid. Everybody I know says they suck donkey balls in concert. But who know, maybe the singer stopped beating his wife for long enough to practice a little. omg.gif

Still come on now, that first album is great.
