This morning on "Sunday Morning", the cover story was the American Idol phenomenon, and the cameras followed along with Chris Daughtry on his current tour. They showed him on stage and interviewed him right as he came off of the stage, and it was neat to see him wearing a LIVE t-shirt. Still showing support for his favorite band!

i just caught daughtry's show in portland last wed and it was kick assssssssss! so much fun and the opening bands, cinder road and eve to adam were great too. I had the chance to meet all of daughtry minus chris and they were so nice. The venue was packed with just over 600 so it was a pretty intimate crowd.........

it was a little creepy thou.........i could've sworn i was watching eddie k moves while cd was on stage wink.gif

all in all, great show and great bands!

"Put this in the ''What Was He Thinking?'' file: At his sold-out L.A. show on Feb. 1, American Idol castoff Chris Daughtry, who has astonished music industry pundits by selling more than 2 million copies of his debut album, must not have had enough songs to fill his 50-minute set. How else do you explain a subpar attempt at U2's ''Sunday Bloody Sunday''? As one EW critic put it, awful bloody awful was more like it. Daughtry may have passed for Live's Ed Kowalczyk on Idol, but Bono is a no-no."

That's funny! I actually have a bigger problem accepting the fact that he has sold that many albums than the fact that he tried to sing a U2 song. But still you would think he would have did a cover of a Live song if anything.

Has anyone else heard this cd? My mom forced me to listen to it because she swore it was good, now I'm questioning her taste! I must say it is one of the most bland, boring, uncreative, unoriginal things I have ever heard. The one thing that I did like was Slash's guitar work but only because I love him. Even his guitar work couldn't save that song. All of the songs sound the same, his voice is average at best and for some reason I am reminded of Nickelback.

Sorry for any fans out there but I just had to give my two cents. I can't believe he has sold 2 million cds. I guess the only way to sell cds anymore is to be on a tv show.

Heather, I am with you one hundred percent! I think the guy has a good voice, but every song on the album sounds exactly the same. The CD is totally generic Nickelback and that's why it is selling well. My biggest beef with the CD is that he had help from numerous artists on each track. He is an American Idol loser wrapped in a nice package with a ton of outside help.

Heather and I agreeing on music, scary smile.gif

Yes! That bugs me too! Is he not talented enough to write his own songs? Hmm if he isn't maybe he shouldn't have a cd out!!!!!!!!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just so tired of people out there not having any standards as far as music goes. It's like they will just buy anything. I would actually be very interested to know the male to female ratio as far as who bought this cd. I have a feeling he sold a lot of cds based on the fact that girls think he is hot.

But whatever, I'm just in a bad mood and felt the need to vent. It is rather scary that we have the same opinion on music though! eh.gif lol.gif

He wrote three songs on his own and co-wrote the rest, except for two.

I think he has an awesome voice. His original music before he even went on American Idol was much harder and better lyrics. This "Daughtry" CD is mediocre and I think they could have done better. But what do you expect? It's an american idol cd...
