James Brown, the "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco, died early Monday, his agent said. He was 73.

Brown was hospitalized in Atlanta with pneumonia on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, his agent said. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side.

Yeah, I just found out when I logged on the net.
He influenced so many like Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Prince etc. A true music legend. I'll definately miss him and his crazy hair.
Rest In Peace Mr Sex Machine!

Thanks for acknowledging Edstipe thumbsup.gif

*cue fanfare*

Ladies and gentleman, we are sad to announce that Mr Dynamite, the Godfather of Soul, Mr Sex Machine himself, Minister of the new super heavy funk, the one, the only - Mr James Brown - has left the stage for the final time.

I had the privelige to see James Brown perform a couple of years back when he was the support for the Chili Peppers. The whole experience of it taking 20 minutes to introduce the whole band as they came on stage, 40 minutes of classic James Brown songs that we all sang along with and boogied away to and the 20 minutes to announce everybody as the left the stage was just highly entertaining. I was in no doubt that I'd just seen a Legend.
