well australian's all let us rejoice........... i think we all thought we would be doing that last night with Italy reduced to ten men and our chances of going through to the quarter finals increased. But alas in the last minute (93rd) Italy were awarded a direct penalty and ended Australia's dream run through the World Cup since the 1970's.

The US got screwed by the offical too with a penalty kick.

I have to say Italy probably was the better team, but I was hoping you guys could pull it off. Italy really bothered me when we played them.

well the penalty was bullshit because the replay showed clearly that it wasnt a foul but thats football. A referees decision is as valid as any of the other rules whether its accurate or not. bad luck. they did well though.

yup...especially since the player he tripped over was already laying there for a while...

over here the soccer "experts" (I cant stand em, cause one moment they say this and as soon as they blink, they say something completely different) were like: yeah well, putting a man down in the penalty area is a penalty for sure"

I cant stand Totti...... seems to me every time something is dubious, he's involved
I am sure he is good at what he does.... but he's annoying

who the fuck cares? Now that they're out of it hopefully this nation will jump off this bandwagon and get back to what matters .. cheering Essendon on from off the bottom of the AFL ladder!

Didn't see it on tv, but I was glued to the online 'matchcast.' I feel for the Australians, that should be the most frustrating way to lose a match.
