Is christopher thorn the same person as chris shinn? This is a bit confusing Oh, I see now. These three are joining Shinn on a small tour. I saw a comment from shinn on facebook saying that they will be playing some Unified theory stuff in their set.

In a roundabout way, it's a Unified Theory reunion with Patrick instead of Brad Smith (who may not be on good terms with Christopher Thorn because of his departure from Blind Melon), so it may make sense to play some Unified Theory stuff.

Does Shinn have any new music in the works? Nothing new on Apple Music since 2019.

He's released a few bits under the name Shinn: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/shinn/1607553759

Looks like there's new stuff coming in the New Year: https://www.instagram.com/chrisshinn/reel/DP145AzjzGY/

The band is on a podcast that came out this week:

https://howdidigethere.podbean.com/

Not much Live content and PD doesn't speak nearly as much as Shinn and Thorne (I know, shocking), but it gives a good backstory to how the bands connected and other stories. Plus I figure any interview involving PD is rare enough these days.

Good for Shinn for living his dream and having the financial ability to do so. I just don't see any actual market for this stuff.

Heh, fair. I confess I've struggled to connect with anything since he switched to Shinn. It's all just a bit too dissonant for me, sadly.

Anyone saw that footage of Shinn playing with Patrick AND Chad last night? Saw some video’s on Facebook. Also, who was the second guitarist, Thorne? In that case there were four (former) bandmembers, haha.
Who was behind the drums?
I think I heard Lakini’s Juice and I Alone. Might be a one time only thing or just a few songs while Shinn is doing his new own project, but it felt sooo long ago that more than one member playing a LIVE song at the same time tongue.gif (not counting the two Chads recording LJ playing with tape for CG’s YT channel),

Yes, that footage is mine—I was at the show in Charlotte last night. On guitar was Christopher Thorn, with PD on bass, and Jason Gerken on drums (of Shiner and Hum), who’s a longtime friend of Chris Shinn. Also with the band is Sean "Memphis" Hennessy (Candlebox/The Gracious Few), who is playing keys, additional guitar work, backing vocals, etc. Paraphrasing Shinn, having CT come into town was “an opportunity to forget about the past and move forward.”

CT's involvement was very much a one-off and a great surprise for those who didn’t know in advance. For me, it was an especially meaningful night—getting to reconnect with my pals PD and CT after far too long.

I’ll likely be attending the Chapel Hill, NC show this Sunday. Keep an eye out for more concert dates as well; it sounds like Shinn’s band may be planning a West Coast run, with additional East Coast shows to follow. The setlist in Charlotte was a mix of Shinn’s original material and Unified Theory songs, aside from Lakini's and I Alone with CT at the end of the set.
